The nuclear hexagram of 63 is hex 64, the nuclear hex of 64 is hex 63 and their corner hexagrams (nuclear of the nuclear) also oscillates back and forth.

However, both hex 63 and hex 64 are dynamic. Hex 63 is the process of completing not actual fixed completion while hex 64 is the process of initiating or launching. If hex 63 is a picture, it is eternally subject to editing in Photoshop (TM)

Hi Meng,
I don't quite understand your cryptic comment. I certainly hope you are not hung up that the KWS ends with "the hopeful hexagram" 64 last. It is done that way to show the eternal change of the Tao and the Yi, therefore it could not have the last hexagram be completion and just sit there like a lump from the West.

The Yi starts with a hexagram of all Yang lines and ends with the hexagram of new beginnings. Then the hex before this hopeful end is of course hex 63--after completion so everything is in perfect order with Yang lines in yang places, yin lines in yin places and then next it starts up again with the launch of new initiative.

The Wilhelm also notes that the old pre-KWS arrangement ended with hex 43 (63 in binary counter) but the KWS had the hopeful ending overall.

So, explain to me please your remark and I apologize in advance for thinking you were referring to hex 64 is after hex 63 thus ending after beginning as that is not at all a reasonable position at all.
