Woo Hoo, Sunday:)... One of my favorite days:)! Always a good day to start things so, I'm going to start watching my diet again. Cris posting about healthy foods in open space has inspired me to get back on track after a period of half-hearted health consciousness. I feel like I need to start over in a lot of areas actually, so I also figured I would consult the Yi about this new beginning I'm hoping for. I'm slowly working the details out in my life, and it has been a while since I asked the oracle about anything besides finding a new job, what do I do here, and what do I do there etc. Tonight I asked, "What do I need to do to get my life back on track?" and I got 55 unchanging... I'm not sure what that means. Actually I have no idea what that means. How does one do 55... Could this possibly mean something good is coming my way? Or does it mean I need to get the facts straight and punish some people who've been begging for it:demon:? Does it mean I should just do more?:brickwall:... Anybody have some thoughts or experience to share about 55 unchanging in response to such a question...
Thanks in advance and :bows::hugs::)

55 is can easily be overwhelm....too much. Becasue of the title 'abundance' people seem to think its a 'good' hexagram whereas often as not its a time when one can't see the wood for the trees, its all too much. I think 'profusion' is a much better description for 55 than 'abundance'. Think of a day when theres so much coming at you from all sides you can't think straight. They may all be opportunities, good ones, but if you can't prioritise, if you can't figure what you realistically can and can't do you could mess everything up

I believe the above explanation may apply perfectly to your situation. Your mind is currently focusing on one area in your life (work) which is being fully absorbing. It may not be the right time to let other priorities in! Sort one thing out at a time. A healthy diet is a great objective ;) but this may not be the right time to pursue it. I know from experience how easy it can be to be carried away by enthusiasm, only to find out later we have overcommitted... The oracle in my view is saying: you don't need to do anything now, other than finding a new job!

All the best as usual :)

Hi DWF, :)
I ceased to like hex 55..... to me it started to speak of overwhelming aboundance, that will soon come to pass or in one particular case where I got in unchanged as just too much, hard to handle, overwhelming, exhausting and all in al, very frustrating...
if it is unchanging in your case, could it be that YI is refering you to re-exhamine your life situation, saying that you are feeling overly bourdoned with everything all together and make you understand that it is just an zenith before a new period is to be born; or perhaps even that you are rich and aboundant in many ways already...LiSe refering to hex 55 as "The Drums Of Victory" saying you posses many richess just boldly get ahead, shine as the Sun at midday... or just dance as a ferret ;)

Thanks for your replies! I think there is a lot of truth in everything you both said, and there may be a layered meaning here. I think I will just have to stick with one thing at a time, like you said Cris. That does make sense. I think it is saying there is just so much to deal with to get it all on track, but there will be a lot to work with. My experience with 55 has been a lot of good things coming my way, so I think you are on to something Dragona. I don't think it is saying so much you have it great so appreciate where you are now, because there are a lot of things apparently wrong right now, but I think things are changing behind the scenes so the Yi must be referring to things I have not been made aware of yet. So, next on my enormous list of things to deal with in my life is where to move. So, I asked the Yi, "What should I consider in my move?" and got 27 UNCHANGING... Aaaaaa... it's the curse of unchanging hexagrams! I'm taking that as an obvious consider who you live with, if their company will be nourishing, and also, the budget. Make sure it will be a situation where I can still afford to properly nourish myself, and get a place close to a good grocery store. Maybe somewhere I can ride my bike outside too. I'm looking for a place with room mates so that certainly makes sense. Wish me luck:)!
Thanks again:bows:

I'm posting a new thread related to this inquiry. If you want to check it out, it will be under 53.1.3>42, "Too much good or too much bad?". I don't think it is possible to glean the information I'm looking for from an unchanging hex, so I asked the Yi for some clarification, with a more specific question and decided to post a separate thread for it.
Thanks again :bows:

The Judgement

The Corners of the Mouth.
Perseverance brings good fortune.
Pay heed to the providing of nourishment
And to what a man seeks
To fill his own mouth with.

The Image

At the foot of the mountain, thunder:
The image of Providing Nourishment.
Thus the superior man is careful of his words
And temperate in eating and drinking.

Do not move close to the good restaurant or a bakery , fine winery or a night bar ;) ?
I would say, think carfully of what you really need and if that place/decision would work for you.
Just take your time. d.

Thank you Dragona, I think you are right. There are a few places I'm looking at this week, one Tues. and one on Wed. I have a better feeling about the one than the other, and there is a totally different one in the area that sounds like a great match as far as the people. They have a cat and a dog, which isn't my preference since I'm allergic, but I'll check it out. It's in a great location and the people sound like my kind... Very open minded, art lovers, and even have group sessions to facilitate spritual healing every 3 weeks. Close to a grocery store too. Sorry about the 39 unchanging Cris. I'll keep you posted on how things go. Thanks again:bows:

Thank you Bradford:). Easier said than done, but I'll do my best;). The logical follow up here was, "What should I focus on first?" and I got 14.3>38. Giving leading to estrangement? No idea what that means. I couldn't find anything in the hexagram index that made sense in terms of my situation. I need to move, start making more money, choose between jobs, etc. so I'm sure the Yi is not suggesting volunteer work right now. Any ideas on what the Yi is suggesting I do first here.
My immediate concern, at the root of everything is money, so I've decided to address that first. I've decided to switch to the new job, and I asked the Yi "How will my financial situation change at the new job?" and I got 8.5>2 and I have no idea how to interpret these in terms of finance. It sounds like it will be alright. That's about as detailed of an answer I could come up with here, and I'm not even sure about that:confused:. Any insight on these readings is deeply appreciated. I have tried to figure it out on my own, but to no avail:brickwall::brickwall::brickwall:.
Thanks as always for your insight and unending patience ,

Hi DWF,

I had a look at the last two castings you posted and have to concur with you: they do not make immediate sense - at least, to an Yi amateur like me ;) Anyway this is my very free interpretation...

14.3 > 38 suggests that in your search for priorities in life you may be focusing on yourself only (the individuality of hex 38), possibly forgetting that you are part of a whole (family, community, humanity) you benefit from and are expected to contribute to. You should look at the endeavours you want to pursue also in this perspective, evaluating how they are going to impact not only you but your environment as well. It's a sort of reality check. Does this make sense?

8.5 > 2. Like the king depicted in the line, you're hunting for money, but are not willing to resort to any available option to make it. You want the financial reward that comes from the career you are best suited for. With determined patience (hex 2) you will achieve it. I got this line recently to a yes/no question (there's a thread somewhere) and in my case the outcome was positive, so I'm hoping this will be the case for you too.

Thanks Cris. Yes, that does make sense. I think it may be pointing me to find a group that would be more receptive to what I have to offer. There aren't many people in my life right now that are, so I haven't really been tring to contribute much. Why give to people who do not want or appreciate what your giving? Perhaps these recent experiences have caused me to generalize a bit and apply the expectation of ungratefulness or nonreceptivity to everyone. So, I really have been conserving my resources for me only because I don't want to waste the energy on people who are more of a negative influence on me than anything else. And yes, I should consider my gifts more when making these choices. I read LiSe's translation on this line, and makes a lot more sense in that light too. I think I would have a lot more to offer at the store I applied to, so hopefully they will hire me. I hope you are right about 8.5>2 as well. I'm glad to hear it was a fortuante casting for you, and that was certainly my impression. Have I ever told you how cute your avatar is. Orange cats are my favorite! I like it more and more every time I see it:).

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Looks like he's beating his head against the wall - a perfect illustration of the way I feel sometimes trying to decipher the Yi's messages :D

"What should I focus on first?" and I got [/COLOR]14.3>38.

I would keep in mind hex 50 too and would try to connect it with this reading.

Eclipse may sounds as an obstruction. Its the overwhelming of those too much that obscure vision. On the other hand , as it happens in real eclipse, only the things that are very bright are visible... the others fade. I could see eclipse's effects as the ones of a filter.

In 14.3 one keeps everything for himself like their procession adds to him value. The other shares... give away. Maybe here says that you have to give up some things.. again filter

From whilhelh's 38
LI is the second daughter and Tui the youngest daughter, and although they live in the same house they belong to different men; hence their wills are not the same but are divergently directed.

I could see 14.3 as well as bits of 55 too in the text i quote.

To me, 38 has to do a lot with inner conflict. two opposite forces competing each other . The one drags to to this way and the other that way.

I know I don't give you direct answers but thought to share some personal observation, based on my bias experience.

In hindsight, there really was a lot of validity to everyone's takes here. There were a lot of good things already in the making, and a lot to deal with as well. The Yi was definitely suggesting to handle one thing at a time, and I think in this case, also not to worry. The only reason I wanted to deal with so much at once was because I expected my situation may not change for a while, and how long can you ignore your health and other things because you are looking for work? Then you just have a new problem. But, I was actually at a zenith where all my needs were being met. Just reading this thread, you can get a feel for the excessive amount of decision making, tasks, blessings etc. inherent in 55, and in hindsight, there was no way I could have simultaneously worked on all those things at the same time. I also think this may have been the Yi's way of urging me to focus my attention on one thing at a time so as to bring it about in my life through thought manifestation. There is an abundance available, just focus on what you want. I had just posted a thread on how to bring abundance into my life, which certainly seems relevant to me. But, yes, focus on one thing at a time was at the heart of the message here for sure. Thanks again everyone for your help:bows:.
