Kung Hei Fat Choy, everyone.

I'm surprised at the lack of Chinese New Year questions here, so thought I'd give it a try. Arguably it's the Year of the Goat, depending upon which Asian country is celebrating.

56.3.5 > 12 Sounds rather sucky at first glance. But digging into various interpretations, it sounds a little better.

LiSe: 56 The great image says:
High on the mountain there is fire: Itinerant Troops
Small expansion, a determination about wandering is auspicious

Hillary: Sequence: Exhausting greatness (hex 52-Abundance) At the time of abundance, you were the center of your domain with great wealth of resources, responsibilities coming to you, …that time is over…leave home and carry your small uniqueness out into the world.
Scary-accurate story of my life, Hillary.

56.3 Traveler burns down her resting place, loses her young helper. ... Your intensity and eagerness to make progress means you lose healthy relationships….

56.5 Bradford: In a distant land with no home or friend, on a journey with no beginning or end, the wanderer still has his best tools: modesty, tact and, above all, his wits…..The lord will know his peer when he meets one, by style and noble gesture, if not by his fancy palace. Again his good fortune has cost so very little, and he stays in a mansion instead of an inn. The whole point of being a seeker is found in being a finder. Here it is finding out where to alight, and how to come highly recommended, with only behavior for references.

Changes to--or springs from-- Hexagram 12
LiSe calls it "To Say No."
Saying no seems a negative thing, but without the art of saying no one is a victim of everything that one passes on one’s road. But receiving a ‘no’, being denied something – even those are necessary things in life. They make strong, one learns there are borders and best of all: one learns to cope with them or to overcome them.

The right reaction to a ‘no’ or the power to overcome obstacles are the base of a strong character. Saying no is the prerequisite for individuality, for inner peace and for a rich and creative existence.

Sometimes you need a time of no. After a hectic time with worldy pursuits, you have to come back, and then 12 feels like a clear glass of water after a hot dusty day.

56.3 So, while I was posting this, my young and very good friend called, her furnace is off, she needed someplace to go, but my phone was off so I missed her call…..Have I lost her as a friend? Well, for today I certainly have. Also, I'm a Type A and she's recommending "peace" for me, which would drive me around the bend into an early grave. I'm intense, unhappy if I pretend not to be. It shows up on my astrological chart too. This may really test the friendship to the breaking point.

So, it's good to be aware that this is a big issue and to be more tactfully intense with her…..I am rather a stranger in a strange town and friends are few and far between. It would be awful to lose her as a friend.

56.5 More of the same on being tactful, especially with my well-situated young friend. She and her husband are very good to and for me…..tho they are quite different from me.

The Red Line is wonderful…I get sidetracked all too often, often in online groups about this and that. I should dump all of them, because, other than Clarity, they take me in the wrong direction. Interesting but wrong for finding what I really want.

Hexagram 12: "No"
This is very funny. No is easy for me, and in fact, my screen name is NO on another board. "Whatever it is, I'm against it," to quote Groucho Marx. So, I need to say no to No, and just get on seeking what I REALLY WANT TO FIND.

Saying NO to myself might work. Actually, I'm thinking of dumping my internet provider so I won't be tempted to while away the hours online getting very smart about stuff that is not helping me get to (FIND) my goal, or my best self.

Of course there are hundreds of ways to interpret 56.2.5 > 12 and I look forward to your conflicting and/or supporting looks at it.

Thanks soooo…

but yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away……..Now it seems that I'm here to stay, which is like a prison sentence for this former world traveler….

Traveling ……my Gemini bro, you know it's what I am (we are?) about. The mental, visual, creative journey now takes the place of planes, boats, trains. Looking for the opportunities in that very non-stimulating condition. Big sigh.
