I've been dreaming of a project for some time now, and recently I conceived the start of it. A friend of mine is trained in a complementary field to my own, and so I am hoping to go into business with her. I asked Yi, "how can I prepare for this endeavor so that it may have a strong start?" I received 56.6 > 62. To me, this seems to be a warning to not forget my foundation and aspire for more than I am capable of handling. Any other interpretations of this?

I, too, have sometimes gotten this line when inquiring about an ambitious project. I am still puzzled about the meaning of it. I usually interpret it the way you did. But some say that at the beginning of something big it is right to burn the nest. But generally speaking the line has taken me aback and I have found that most of the time it is pointing me to some responsibility I may be in danger of forgetting, like another commitment I am in danger of missing, something like that. The 62 says to keep a low profile and stick to details. :)

That's an interesting thought that it is good to burn the nest. In that regard, I see it as forfeiting my current jobs and moving out (I'm still living with parents while I attend school), which would indeed be a good thing as far as starting a business would go. In that case the line, "first, laughter, then lamenting" appears to me to be the initial joy of freedom followed by the stresses and responsibilities of being not only independent, but also an upstart entrepreneur. In either case, it seems like I have a reality check coming my way :p

Hello friend:

Yes, you are right. I thinks the answer to your question is quite clear.

Hex 56.6 means that if you change your job to a new area (which you are unfamiliar with), you should not be in a hurry to succeed. And as the saying goes, learn to walk before you run!

I thought this was an extremely useful thread, basically my business is kind of coasting along and I am aiming for a very big month coming up in April, its Good Friday where I am today. I was really taken back as to the meaning of this line but as both people said they felt in good spirits. So it is puzzling as stated above.

My question was simply what do i need to know moving forward?

Could I be being advised its time to burn my ships and simply go forward?
That could make sense, to be honest I am not fully sure what is I am being advised.

Lise's commentary makes probably the most sense

In new circumstances - new people, new place, new experience - one should be extra careful. Expect anything and weapon yourself against it. And if you happen to have a place or friends, then be careful not to lose them.

Its the text about loss and misfortune, things are fairly good now.
Does anybody else know anything about this line?
62.6 warns of arrogance or over stretching yourself.

I get it I get it, its like if things are going well, then prepare yourself dont leave a cigarette burning in your room at the inn and go down to the bar just because you are feeling merry.

Thats how I am seeing it with my question anyway, new things are happening stay on guard, the warning I guess is that there could be misfortune. Not that there will.

I have an update on my experience with this line, over the Easter break it was really nice. Everything appeared to be running smoothly I even managed to get away for the night Saturday. The thing was that I had issue with a domain name that needed to be renewed. It was fairly important as it was connected with my Hosting account. This holds the key to around a hundred websites.

I contacted the hosting company Thursday and informed them that the domain name was going to lapse and that it may be difficult to renew over the Easter break. The consultant I spoke to gave me some very bad advice and said that the domain would not effect the hosting.

Sure enough the domain lapsed and the whole system shut down, websites emails the whole lot. One client who is a car hire business lost a lot of business. I have had to give 12 months free service. I am very lucky that I have good relationship with him.

My inn burned down. The issue is now rectified.
The line in hindsight can be a warning not to be careless.
Saying this I should have trusted my instincts and just got it sorted at least on the Saturday.

I think I was caught up in the spirit of the holiday and didnt really think about what I was doing.
