It's been a long winter and today was just a nice, quiet, relaxing warm day and I asked an 'open' question of how the rest of the month would be, what the end of the month would bring and got 58.1.2.4.5.6 to 23. Gosh, its sounds so positive then it takes a nose dive? Or does 23 here mean dropping "baggage" and looking ahead to "new beginnings." And since line 3 wasn't included, is that the one to pay attention too?

Hi ScorpioC

23
"Submit to the bad time and remain quiet" (sigh) has always applied as the underlying theme when I've gotten hex 23.

58.1.2.4.5.6
I had 58.2.3.6>13 for a monthly reading once when I was orienting for a job, a process that took longer than expected, three months actually. My reading was for the third month and, by then, I knew the basics and had my own work space, but it was still made clear to me that I was an outsider, so I'd taken to keeping to myself and not doing much if not asked. 58.2.3.6>13 was a wake-up call to me to be more proactive in a fellowship kind of way (13). It was hard at first, approaching people who didn't seem to think much of me, but every day I started volunteering for more, asking for things to do, and generally putting myself "out there" in a positive way without expecting anything in return. It was a challenging experience, but I learned much more than I would have otherwise and have a good network of people as a resource now.

But yours is 58.1.2.4.5.6>23. I think 58.1 reflects your good "home" space when casting the question. Imo, it means proactively keeping to that 58.1 good space out in the midst of a bad space kind of environment (23). The rest of the 58 lines all appear to me as the ways that tempting diversions will come up for you rest of this month that will try to steal your joy.

Some people look at the unchanging line (58.3) when all the other lines change. For me 58.3 meant even if quiet and alone by yourself, keep productive, which might apply for you as well.

Regarding your wondering if things will start out good and then take a nosedive, I see readings more as a map of the landscape in front of me which gives me the choice of my own path through the territory, not as a prediction of how things will go. For yours, if it gets complicated, remember 58's Judgment is "Success" :).

Thanks for a clearer understanding of 23. That makes sense too. On the 'outsider' thing, I've been 'one of those people' my whole life so I have made my home environment my sanctuary. I'm puzzled some (although I completely understand you explanation of your new work environment); of just exactly what I'm to be proactive to...maybe a positive attitude through the "diversions." Although things are well at home, we've definately been in a financial "dry spell". And those heat bills sure aren't helping *sigh*. Ah well....guess its going to be "dry" longer than I want.

Yes, I think that's a really good way to put it.

It's been a long winter and today was just a nice, quiet, relaxing warm day
And, to expand a little on 58.1, I think the above is so beautifully an image of a 58.1 "sanctuary" which can nurture the genuine in your positive attitude.

"A quiet, wordless, self-contained joy, desiring nothing from without and resting content with everything, remains free of all egoistic likes and dislikes. In this freedom lies good fortune, because it harbors the quiet security of a heart fortified within itself" (W/B Bk I).
