I've somehow established contact with someone whom I know very superficially . He lives far from me and we have crossed each other's path several times. The encounters have always been interwoven with some subtle emotions.
Now, I've made the first move, made the contact (online), he answered immediately but cautiously.
My question to IC was: How will our communication develop if I leave the initiative henceforth to him? And I got 59 > 17

Any help is welcomed.
Thank you.

How will our communication develop if I leave the initiative henceforth to him? And I got 59.1,2,4,6 > 17

It looks very good but a word of advice don't leave everything up to him, communication is a two way affair, so if he doesn't respond in a timely fashion, don't sit there all agitated and angry, just get get an email off to him. Close friends have plenty to talk to each other about.

Thank you for your response :)
That is exactly why I've asked that question: sometimes I am...well, too communicative... and I felt I should try to give more space to people.

This one, 59>17 was not very clear in that respect: what happens if I do leave it to him? With four changing lines, I was more focused on the latter hexagram, wondering, still, who is doing/should do the following, and who/what is the boy to lose (though I'd rather get the man ;) )

But, ok, you've made it clear: if he does not respond soon, I'll write again.

Still, I've been reading other threads connected to hex 59 and I've come up with one that states: "This Hexagram usually requires a lot of patience, and internal work from the person who draws this Hexagram. You have to learn to step out of your shell. Nothing survives in isolation. I hope this helps you." (it's from supanatural, since several years ago, I don't know how to quote posts  )

That is where my confusion comes from, because I saw it that way too. Aren't "a lot of patience" and "nothing survives in isolation" contradictory? In my case, at least. The way I read it is that if I am patient I will wait for him to contact me but if I contact him, that would be coming out of the shell.
Or, have I already come out of the shell by contacting him first?
What furthers my confusion is that my question was: "How will it all develop if I leave it up to him?"
Or should I try reformulating the question?
