Hi everyone,

I have been gone for a long while now, glad to still see many familiar names in the forum. Hope you all doing well

As a comeback question something which is puzzling me. For a long period now that I stopped having input from dreams. I wake up with no memory of anything. This was of course due to all the speed and little sleep I was having for many months, but now im calmer, I relax, I make affirmations about remembering dreams when I am falling asleep, I keep a journal and a pen ready next to me for when I wake up and... nothing. For months now.

So I decided to ask:
Why am I not able to access my dreams anymore ?

59,2 > 20

I took it as a description of the current situation, there is a veil (59) to my perspective on dreams (20), I cant see them, and that veil can be dissolved. I hope 59 means it is dissolving.

The line mentions rushing. Could I be forcing something ? But I am waiting for months now. Other interpretations give me a sensation of fleeing (away) for support. Could I be coming to contact with material too complex to handle right now so my conscious mind is running away to a supportive safe place (of consciousness).

What is your take on it ? Any tip to dissolve the veil ?

Thank You,
Glad to be back! :)

59,2 > 20 ... Any tip to dissolve the veil ?

Sometimes we have suffered misfortune and we are holding on to resentments that block our inner life. Forgive everybody, bless them, and let them go ...

The text of line 59.2 refers to an altar and maybe to a temple. Go to a place where you feel very, very safe, like a retreat or similar haven. You would have a dream.

Dear Ginnie,

though what you add makes perfect sense and I already have an image of what I can do to make the sleeping environment "safer" I dont see any reference to an altar in 59.2... from where do you get it, can you tell me ?
I am using Lise|s online resource http://www.yijing.nl/i_ching/ and Bradford|s PDF
(attached image)

Just to know if it is a question of interpretation or source...
though in the end it doesnts matter, as soon as I read your second entry, it "landed home" :)

thanks,
Yoana

I'm glad that landed home.

My source for the world "altar" is John Blofeld's translation. The text of line 59.2 reads: "When disintegration is in process, hasten to the altar and regret will vanish." The commentary reads: "This line indicates that we shall obtain what we desire."

Other translations say things like hasten to your contrivance (for security) or hurry to that which supports you.

Hastening to what supports you would for many people mean getting to a church, temple, or retreat area: a sacred space. Also, through the techniques of 'space clearing' we ourselves can turn almost any area into a sacred -- or safer -- place.

Somewhere in the text of this hexagram is the idea that spiritual forces are needed to dissolve whatever it is that is blocking us up.
