61.6 > 60 gaining independence and earning a living

I have not earned a living for a while now and am craving to do so.

Some may think I'm lucky since I don't have the burden of rent and have someone to sponsor my artistic endeavours. However, I really want to move on with my life even and support myself.

So I asked i-ching.

"What would be the best way for me to earn a living?"

I got 61.6 > 60.... hmmm this is not great. Feels like Yi is saying "you'll have limited freedom and you won't like it." Line 6 talks about a cock crowing... I'm a bit confused about that.

Then I got impatient and asked "Will I make any money soon?"

41.2.3 > 22

The decreasing of 41 doesn't sound good!! It feels like I'm losing money rather than making it?? Could that be through someone taking advantage of me?? (I do tend to be a pushover sometimes and like to help others). OR could that mean... I start changing / decreasing my habit of getting support and end up being happier?

I know, I know... these questions are a bit poop. I feel that I made a trap for myself and want independence.Though these readings aren't too rosy. If anyone can forgive my poopy questions and interpret these for me, I'd appreciate it!

I'm not giving you an extensive interpretation, just some hints...

I think you got the "general" message, maybe you miss some positive details of the readings..

In the first reading you got this line, the sixth, which is definitely negative, telling you, why even ask this kind of question ("cockrow")? The hexagram 60 is about limitations, so i think it would be a good idea to keep a close eye on your expenses (keep a note of your income/outcome) :

Water over lake: the image of LIMITATION.
Thus the superior man
Creates number and measure,
And examines the nature of virtue and correct conduct.

Hexagram 41 is about the "reduction" of something, which is not often a real problem.. also passions, emotions, in this case your idea of becoming independent.. I think is telling you to dominate your desire of economic independence and your emotions about it, and to concentrate instead on artistic creation (hex. 22).

27.3 → 22 (Adornment), Richmond:
He refuses nourishment. Misfortune.
For ten years there is no progress.

You should just appreciate your good fortune (27.3), the free lifestyle. Keep it going for now (41.2).
Don't try to fly higher (61.6) than it needs to be.

61 work on your ego. 41 decrease desires and restrain impulses, live gracefully, easy 22.
