The Lady in Red is intrigued by the exhaustion of the male. HA!

64 is the 'not yet across' hexagram.
What source and line are you refering to?

Alas, the Lady in Red is too green to have taken note of source and line, but gives thanks for your attention nonetheless1:D Steep learning curve ahead!

Welcome to the forum.

The source is the book or website that you were reading.

The line is a changing line (if any) that came up in the reading.

Did you get hexagram 64?

It is very useful to write down your question. (Or save it in a computer file)
And to write down the answer.

Good luck

The expression ‘exhaustion of the male’ occurs under hexagram 63 in Hilary's online I Ching, if my notes are correct.

Already Across is paired and contrasted with Hexagram 64, Not Yet Across
‘Already Across: calm and settled.’
‘Not Yet Across: exhaustion of the male.’

Also, it's in a blog.

And the Zagua firmly groups 54 with 64: ‘woman’s completion’ versus ‘exhaustion of the male’.

Thank you, Pocossin! Referring to the blog you so kindly provided a link to, I clearly see I am floating in a Universe so expansive that the original question is but a drop long since absorbed into a Galaxy I may never float past again....I have true appreciation for the dedication with which many of you apply yourselves!

This is a interesting topic but may belong in Exploring Divination, a concern that is no longer mine. There is doubt about the dating the the Zagua (the 10th and last Wing). Balkin says it may be as late as early second century A.D. In the Tai Xuan Jing (Great Mystery Classic) of about 2 B.C., the year ends at the winter solstice with the dominance of the female (yin) and the exhaustion of the male (yang). If terminal hexagram 64 is taken to represent the end of such a year, then it represents the 'exhaustion of the male', that is, the time of greatest darkness as at the bottom of the Taijitu.
