Hello all,

Wanted to ask for your impressions on 63.2.4 regarding how to deal with obsessive thoughts (when obsessive = having something on your mind all the time, trying to understand a situation, trying to find the right way to follow through, worry because you might do the wrong thing, etc. and these thoughts are taking most of the day).

Thanks for your help!

It simply says to stop thinking about the problem, which of course needs determination on your part as you plainly seem to be over reacting here.

Hmmm.. not related to the reading at all but I thought I'd tell you what seems to work for me: replace the obsessive thoughts.

Now, of course, if you have a real problem that has an actual solution that you need to discover then you can't just forget about it for good. So, what you do is that you make an appointment with yourself to think about it and try to come up with a solution. You can set it up at 2:00 p.m. for one hour and not any longer than that.

The rest of the time, whenever you find your mind drifting to your 'favorite subject', change the focus to something you have already predetermined. I find it useful to have little affirmations, since I never have the time for affirmations.

For instance, if you are obsessing about losing weight, as soon as the idea enters your mind ("how will I lose these 20 pounds", "did I eat little enough yesterday" "boy, I'm hungry") go take a walk and relish in thin, healthy and beautiful as your god-given right.
At 2:00 p.m. you come up with a weight loss plan, or review the one you have and you might even give yourself a pep talk and then let the whole thing go until the next day, at 2:00 p.m.

Eventually you will retrain your mind and it won't have as much fun with obsession as it did before.

Hi Samgirl,

Crystalline makes a good point with "if you have a real problem that has an actual
solution that you need to discover then you can't just forget about it for good"

which i was thinking about because of line 63:4.

63 suggests that you are thinking about how to react to something which has
already happened. 63:2 shows you that you feel you want to get back something
you have lost. 63:4 says that on top of all that there are lots and lots of problems
connected with this whole situation. Under these circumstances, there seems to
be a real problem here, and thinking about it cannot be avoided till the problem
goes away, is resolved. 43 might be saying to you that the problem will be resolved,
that you will reach some conclusions on the situation. Very promising. It may also be
advising you to make some decisions concerning your actions, and stick to them.
As long as our actions are ok (eg looking after ourselves, our work, our chores, and
so on) then thinking lots is fine.

Thank you, Diamanda, Crystaline. I'm struggling these days... :0 It's indeed about something that happened and that I feel like in a limbo... I really don't understand where I'm going here and that scares me... I used to have everything under control -under my comfort zone- and now it's time to grow. But well, I'm freaking out. :) So perhaps I should have asked (just did)... "what can I do to stop freaking out"? 50.5 to 44... I read that I have helpers here. I have been meditating, doing yoga, dancing these days and feel good (releasing my agitation). "Where is this path taking me?" and I received 26 - unchanging. It does not seem that I am going to the void here - even when I feel like. Great harvest.

So, going into the practical matters = money (which is part of the struggle), I asked: what do I need to DO to be able of keeping going on this path? 8.4 to 45. Okay... do you read this I have to do what I am already doing?

I will appreciate your comments... a lot. Thank you.
