dear all,

had to stay away for a while due to a lower back accident which kept me in bed rest (trying to pick up a box too full, a case of 55.5 to 49 according to the Yi, btw) and moving to a new, more permanent dwelling place (yeeeeah!! :pompom:)
having put all that behind me, and looking out of my new window, i pondered on what holds me back from fully putting myself out there, what keeps me from fulfilling whatever potential i might carry . . . Yi said 63.3 to 3

Now, I believe i know a couple of things about this line 3 place and its inhabitants, I've even let them take over for some time (and yes, it took 3 years to come out of it, torn to pieces and brand new, but that was before meeting Yi), just to see what was the fear and darkness all about. Of course seeing the bottom of the lake once doesn't mean one knows it for good, every step influences and changes this landscape imperceptibly but still to much effect

sooo, it looks like I'm going back there again, or have entered already, and even though I cherish the value of a thorough cleansing, war is always a bloody business and at this point in my life i do not want to give another three years to it, I'd like to take my battles in the open fields rather than the darkened forest . .

and here is where I turn to you. I would love to read your own stories, experiences, images, smells, thoughts, dreams, myths, histories about what you know/understand as Gui region, anything that seems to click really, just to bring into the light this labyrinth and the strange creatures that reside it . . (Yi has advised 30 to 32 here)

looking forward to it all :bows:

p.s.: I have two more questions coming up cause yesterday was a VERY intense day but I'm trying to take things slowly -taking my first steps outdoors after my accident was a pure 53 learning experience, I had to walk so slowly that people looked at me strangely, it was as if i followed some invisible procession lol! (ouch)

I'm a small wheel all ears :)

Hi Rodaki,

First let me say I'm sorry to hear of your accident and hope you recover soon, and that you enjoy your new dwelling and view from the window.

After completing a major transition, things do not automatically return to the good ole days. There are still old "devils" that must be reckoned with. These devils can be out of sight and mind for a time, but since they have not been weeded out nor their loyalty won over entirely, they will again resurface, usually when and in ways you may not expect them to, and often when you are at your weakest. It takes quite a long time of diligence to bring the tyrants under your dominion (Yi says three years). During such times as this, little people (those who not capable of leading or lending support to a successful reconstruction of your life) are of little or no use, and can actually hinder your complete recovery.

hi Meng

thank you, thank you and thank you for your wishes and nice words!

Luckily enough, I have a strong organism and I heal fast, so soon I'll be back on my bike :)
of course I'll have to be more careful with my back from now on
Funny thing is, I think in a way Yi might have been hinting about this accident quite some time before it happened . . I kept getting lines about 'moving central', 'turn to the middle' and in greek the word we use for lower back is 'middle'. At the time I thought that besides the attributes of character that walk the middle, those lines had to do with my new place which is near a street called 'Middleway' :D
but maybe it also referred to my lower back . .

I've been reading what you wrote . . You seem to think that real people might have to be kept at bay . . I only thought about inner landscapes, but you might be right here

they will again resurface, usually when and in ways you may not expect them to,

yes, I find it to be like that exactly . . these are influences that have the knack of going by unnoticed, starting very small . . they might be just a thought, or an everyday small habit, or a way of sitting. It's very easy to let them go by, even if you do try to keep your eyes open

I was reading this thread on 63 (http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/friends/showthread.php?t=1304)
and Kevin mentions hx36 on line 5, which felt right even though I didn't get that line. I've never so far seen 36 as injurious though, more like a darkened place and that not always threatening, just dark.
of course it also mentions that this line is a lonely one . .

this question that gave me this line was in ways related to a small incident, which brought an issue I've been working on, back to life hitting very close at home. Back then Yi said 53 and 13.6 to 49, proceed slowly (and of course what Janice wrote about 53!) and meet them but not at home, on neutral ground perhaps? Maybe an expedition is in order then, maybe I need to be out there moving more than slowly receding from my life

thanks again

I intended no differentiation between inner and outer landscapes. Like yourself, I relate more to them inwardly.

There's a very tough weed which grows here, called goatheads - named for their tire (and foot!) penetrating thorns. After some heavy rains, I went to clear the yard of them recently, using a flat shovel, but though I managed to dig most of the budding growth up, most of their roots were still in the ground. grmph, little devils.

I can also agree with your experience of 36. I don't experience damage to my light. More like keeping my light burning but inside, without intentionally showing it outwardly. But when you get your fire going nicely, sometimes others want to share. I've enjoyed many times of sharing with others during times of receiving 36. 36 just was a different way of sharing than during a time of, say, 35 or 55. An inner contentment or glow.

ah, yes, that sounds a great sharing way!!
I also remember you talking before about another thorny plant, a 'wait-a-second' plant you called it? I actually had a dream some time ago (or more like I was in a state between dreaming and being conscious) where I saw I had to stay really still so as to take out a bunch of rose thorns . . then I came across that post (can't recall if I had read it before) and I couldn't believe my eyes!!

who knows, maybe them little devils play also a part in the equilibrium of the place?

Synchronicity. Yeah, I tripped and dumped a big trashcan of goatheads all over me and down my shirt... yeow! chuckles

No doubt they do play a part. Horses and rabbits love eating them when the thorns are still in their green and tender/crunchy stage. Rabbits feed the coyotes, foxes, bobcats, hawks and crows. All part of the chain. The apostle Paul spoke of his thorn in the flesh, given to buffet him from pride. Useful, yes. Nice, not especially,

ai ai ai! watch out, they're still alive and jumpy even weeded out!!

a thorn to ward off pride huh? yes, that makes sense, especially when it comes to the false kind of it -definitely one to uproot

a case of 43.5 then?
Amaranth land. Very resolute. Move central.
(from LiSe of course!:) )

Interesting. Wildflower used for grain. The amaranth of India: vigorous, hardy annual with dark purplish flowers crowded in handsome drooping spikes. This sounds remarkably like goatheads, which also yields beautiful small purple flowers, and the early thorns do indeed resemble drooping spikes. But boy are they murder to walk on once they harden like nails, and prolific!

they sure sound as "Very resolute"!
(and my inner voice repeats: 'Move central' . . and watch your back lest you trip, get a 50.4 and then have to 18 all over!)
Mental note taken

This is funny now. Mojo (my dog), during the first years we lived here, and before I understood the goathead cycle or even what the actual plant looked like before drying out in summer, had carved a narrow path through those pretty green and purple plants, from his sand pile bed to the back door, where his water was kept. Moving central. Dogs already know this stuff!

Hi Rodaki,

I wish you lots of good times ahead. Recovery and strength for your back, enjoying your new living place, and balance for your inner journey.

I am coming back from something a bit similar. No guy regions for me though, I simply had to come back from too much stress during too much time. 5.6 to 9. Sit in your cave and meet the visitors. I think it meant most of all 'reconnect with people', and there are indeed 3 of them. Looking after my own little farm instead of running around. So I got a sciatica in December, the day after my birthday, which forced me first into my bed and then confined me to my house. A good friend, one of those 3, got me out and into the sun in a wheelchair. Was an interesting experience. Now I think I walk a bit like you. Sloooowly and carefully.

My own experience with 63.3: I asked about a kind of paranoia of someone, always about the same thing, feeling harassed by the municipality. In my eyes it was not at all the case.
And another time about "Scorpio". I had quite some trouble with one, how to deal with that person, and then got 63 lines 3 and 5. I had asked 'what IS a Scorpio, how does that function inside". It did give me some more understanding, the combination of dark demons and sincere sacrifice.

dearest LiSe

thank you so much about your wishes and I'm sorry to hear about your hardships . . it is awful to feel disjointed and it gives one a sense of frailty . . I hope you'll recover smoothly and swiftly. i also hope you enjoyed the sun :)
that was a strange gift you got for your birthday . . when i asked Yi about the good fortune of my 55.5, i got 52.1 to 22 and i just had to laugh at myself! now i'm seeing it more like a kind of 'sitting pretty', or 'staying put in grace', but then again that was my reading . .

and also thank you for sharing your 63.3s . .

I asked about a kind of paranoia of someone, always about the same thing, feeling harassed by the municipality. In my eyes it was not at all the case.

do you mean that in that case the issue was an illusion, or all in one's head then?

it's interesting how Scorpios carry their own kind of thorn . . I'm thinking how in 63.3 the goal is not about destroying the Gui region but capturing it's leader. I 've come to accept that some things are the way they are and I do not wish to impose some deliberate will on them (anyway I'm not sure about the source of such willfulness -who says 'I"?) I'm more inclined to try to learn how they work in order to navigate them -move central. I'm bound to make mistakes but I also try to use them as a way to learn -probably the hard way but I guess some day I'll know enough to avoid it . .

that said, I woke up today humming this song (the videoclip is hilarious!!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhi4bNF-QB0

it made for a nice going to work :)

I've been stung twice so far this year (meaning last 12 months) by bark scorpions, the venomous kind, which can climb. They shock a bit, but do no real damage. :mischief:

PS: That's like totally 80's. I drove my chevy to the levy that day.

The Bark Scorpion is the most venomous scorpion in North America, and its venom can cause severe pain (coupled with numbness and tingling) in adult humans, typically lasting between 24 to 72 hours. Temporary disfunction in the area stung is common; e.g. a hand or possibly arm can be immobilized or experience convulsions. It also may cause the loss of breath for a short period of time. Due to the extreme pain induced, many victims describe sensations of electrical jolts after envenomation.
(from wikipedia)

that sounds like quite of a shock I'd say!!
hmm, I think we need to re-define "real damage" lol!!

I drove my chevy to the levy that day.

Nah, that's exaggerated, unless you have have a severe allergy to them, as with bee stings. In fact, it was about equivalent to a yellow jacket sting.

There's two things people automatically do here: shake their bed covers while looking looking beneath them, and shakes their shoes and slippers before sliding your foot into them. My second sting came as I was drinking my morning coffee while reading email. My slippers slipped off for only 10 minutes. When I slid my foot back into the slipper------zap. Benadryl relieves about 80% of the discomfort.

How does this relate to 63.3 again?

Oh yeah, li'l devils.

Rodaki I've been battling (no pun intended) with these lines, and i say lines cos I tend to muddle 63.3 and 64.4 up, , can't get any real clarity on them in my readings when I'm often at a loss as to 'what transition ?' and 'what devils ?' and do I bother then ? The sense is this matter is going to require alot of effort so its a question of are you going to take this battle on...is it worth it ? Brad wrote something about this on a thread here I'll link if i can find it further down, about how you have to ask if this is something you really really want to do

So far in my own readings I feel the devils can be the hidden resistances to a project but I'm never exactly sure whether its advice to carry on..or not...despite great rewards at the end..it all sounds very exhausting doesn't it

glad you bought it up for discussion anyway, i too would like to hear peoples thoughts on it

Yes, Luis, I've heard they're good eating. The survivor shows often show them being eaten while alive, sans the stinger. Think I'll stick with celery stalks.

Btw, I had no idea you have a grown son. Does he show an interest in Yijing too?

Hey, you are not the only one getting old!! Yes, my son, Adriel (19), is a sophomore in UD, taking languages (Japanese and Mandarin and East Asian studies and International Relations, making Papa very proud for no good reason...:D) and with enough credits under his belt to be considered almost a Senior. Loves languages and is one of those odd creatures that inhales them effortlessly.

My daughter, Amaris (14), is a freshman in HS.

Maybe 53.3 equals the GUI FANG with the XIAO REN, both opposed to the GAO ZHONG. Maybe is not about WAR AFTER MAKING WAR, as Wilhelm / Baynes said (3). Maybe it is about LOVE AFTER MAKING LOVE.

Strangers, plain people, like us, not concerned with noble rulers interests, not concerned with war but with love. Maybe too much feeling but little understanding. Say «STRANGER IN THE NIGHT».

All the best,

oh my, lots of new things -I'm happily overwhelmed :)

hi Trojan,
I'm glad you joined in!

The sense is this matter is going to require alot of effort so its a question of are you going to take this battle on...is it worth it ? Brad wrote something about this on a thread here I'll link if i can find it further down, about how you have to ask if this is something you really really want to do

You're saying it is actually a matter of a choice to be made about going into Gui . . ok, I'm not sure what i think about that. I had thought about it a lot and came down into admitting that there was such a choice the previous time i found myself surrounded by those personages. There was a choice made out of a need to unpack a certain obscurity, to take those skeletons out of the closet, to find what one is made of . . discovering in the end what Bradford says about 29.1
A pit is a trap, not a path, you cannot follow through; it is a niche, but the wrong
one to occupy/QUOTE]

of course I earned unique lessons -would I make the choice again? No, once was enough, I think I know as much as I need. But as I said, one is who one is, and the tendencies that led you down one path are always there, and thru time I guess they expand or contract. . . . . . . . Ok, maybe i can see a choice right here when i'm saying I would not want to go down that road again
I do think sometimes though that choices, or decisions are so much driven from some essential need that they are just a rationalization of what we would do anyways . . we can really fool ourselves that much:eek:

So far in my own readings I feel the devils can be the hidden resistances to a project but I'm never exactly sure whether its advice to carry on..or not...despite great rewards at the end..it all sounds very exhausting doesn't it

glad you bought it up for discussion anyway, i too would like to hear peoples thoughts on it

. . I think the exhausting part is trying to acknowledge their existence in an effective way . . maybe tuck them to sleep?
I guess it depends on how ferocious they've come to be. It's nice though to be at a point where you can just shrug them off!

*

Luis, really cool! I can not imagine a better way to get over a fear than by crunching into it AND finding it tasty!!:D
it looks like you have every good reason to be proud!

*

Charly,
my back got really strained due to my absent-mindedness; luckily no permanent damage done, but it did scare the hell out of me
thank you for all the work you've put to give a translation here! I'll really have to study it more, but for the time being I find very hard to follow your comment

Strangers, plain people, like us, not concerned with noble rulers interests, not concerned with war but with love. Maybe too much feeling but little understanding

Love and war come close together at times . . perhaps a good night's sleep will help me see a way to turn what now appears a battlefield into a site of grace

I wanted to write a few things about how this 63.3 is unfolding for me (a strange mixture of experiences really) but I'll try to do that the following days -now it's getting too late and nothing good will come out of this head :eek:uch:
I will leave you though with today's morning song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip1zsUIosoA&feature=related
it's either my subconscious is throwing an 80s revival party, or I don't know what! lol!! (but I just can't believe the styling of that decade )

getting properly introduced

dear all,

I've taken some time to put my thoughts in order . . and now I'm back to thank you first of all for sharing and posting and commenting. It has meant a lot.

For anyone who 'd like to read what this 63.3 has involved for me, read on, this might get longish though -many things involved
I would still love to hear any more stories if people feel like sharing them -always interested in witnessing Yi's range of meanings!

Anyways, to go back to this post's heading, reading Clarity's archives on some readings i received, i run into the term 'monkey-mind'. I'm guessing most of you know about this already, but that was a new thing to recognize for me. Wikipedia has a great article about this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_monkey) from where I'll quote selectively:

Mind monkey or Monkey mind, from Chinese xinyuan and Sino-Japanese shin'en 心猿 [lit. "heart-/mind-monkey"], is a Buddhist term meaning "unsettled; restless; capricious; whimsical; fanciful; inconstant; confused; indecisive; uncontrollable". In addition to Buddhist writings, including Chan or Zen, Consciousness-only, Pure Land, and Shingon, this "mind-monkey" psychological metaphor was adopted in Daoism, Neo-Confucianism, poetry, drama, and literature. "Mind-monkey" occurs in two reversible four-character idioms with yima or iba 意馬 [lit. "thought-/will-horse"]

The Tang Dynasty poet Xu Hun 許渾 (fl. 832-844) wrote the first known parallel between "mind-monkey" and "idea-horse." His Zengti Du yinju 贈題杜隱居 "Poem Written for Sir Du the Recluse" says: "Nature exhausts the mind-monkey's hiding, spirit disperses the idea-horse's moving/stopping. Guests who come ought to know this: both self and world are unfeeling."

The Song Dynasty poet Zhu Yi 朱翌 (1098-1186 CE) reversed the Tang lyrical xinyuanyima expression into yimaxinyuan "will-horse mind-monkey". His Shuixuanshi 睡軒詩 "Sleeping Porch Poem" says: "Haste is useless with the idea-horse and mind-monkey, so take off your baggage someplace deep within dreamland."

The 1223 Kaidōki 海道記 "Record of Coast Road Travels" was a travelogue of the Tōkaidō (road) from Kyoto to Kamakura. It used shinsen 心船 "heart/mind boat" meaning "imaginary journey" with iba 意馬 "idea/will horse" and wrote arasaru 荒猿 "wild monkey" for arasu 荒す "treat roughly/wildly": "I rowed the mind-boat for make-believe. As yet, I neither poled across myriad leagues of waves on the Coast Road, nor roughly rode the idea-horse to urge it on through clouds of the distant mountain barrier."

there also seem to be a lot of webpages with advise on controlling what appears almost as a condition (http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Three_Secrets_to_Stop_Monkey_Mind.html):

While monkey mind has come to have a negative connotation, it also has a vital purpose. The reason it exists is to process information necessary for both survival and problem-solving. These are functions that are as significant as any other body function; the challenge is that, by virtue of its role, it continuously handles information. Monkey mind is activated due to system overload when there is more information than mental processing bandwidth.

so, yes, I can definitely recognize my thought patterns of the recent past (going back to 12 to 18 months) as that of the mind-monkey. I can also recognize when this shift of balance started happening and why and also which parts of my life it fed on to grow out of proportion. So, good to meet you mister Monkey-mind, now that we've been properly introduced, I can call you by name when you go off running (one little devil in the bag? :) . .)

Still, there are other things going on in parallel to the monkey's mental acrobatics, and these involve taping into sources that work beyond me and my mere mind. These things have taken many forms -hearing things, seeing things, synchronicities, strong coincidences leading to meetings or averting meetings, dreams, sensations, feelings, you name it . . They usually come and go in waves, occasionally making me feel everything from gratitude and trust to fear for having lost the sense of being in charge of my life -calling the shots. Yi has been supportive in this and it has averted me from probing too much with asking (while it usually is very very patient with me despite my monkey questions ) For the past 10 days I've been in another of these waves and it has been quite powerful. I believe it started with a dream: just before waking up I dreamt of some people giving me a letter; it felt like a command . . . and up I was, into waking life. That was one dream for which Yi did not give 45 (45 is my dream hex. It's the one i almost always get when I ask about the few dreams that survive beyond my pillow). Instead, it gave me 41.4 to 38.

I did get to have all the 45s I wanted during the rest of the day, when I was revisited by overwhelming, long-forgotten (lost?) feelings about my ex-partner. Not going into too much detail, that was a long-term thing which ended a year ago, after painfully accepting that it could not go on under the present circumstances (read 'geographical distance'). Ever since, our connection has become the hub of half of the 'waves'. Trying to put closure, I left aside my conscious thoughts about my ex but I started getting intimate information about his life thru my dreams, which often made me think 'for God's sake, spare me the details, will you?', unfortunately not to much effect. And let me say to those of you with teasing minds: this is not about naughty dreams -once I dreamt about his new girlfriend freaking out and pulling a jealousy scene about me (she has issues, quite naturally, going after him in true Scorpio mode for a whole year before our breakup -aaargh, still biting thru this one, but being a cow in a crab's armor makes me pretty resilient in venomous stings ;) ).

Anyway, I think you got the picture.
So, this is how this 63.3 looks like so far: after a period of transition from absolute no-movement to moving house, a warning from the Yi, a series of 45s manifesting in waking life, being properly introduced to one little devil gone astray, a thread with lots of inspiring feedback and what i believe is my longest post so far :)eek:)
I am positively clueless about the workings and the role of these strange waves and i did not expect them when I've been given such a dire warning from Yi . . I know that people out there have had lots of experience with similar things, any ideas or advice?
A couple of days ago I asked about their role and Yi said 63.2 to 5 . .
Is my veil of ignorance lifted but only for a while?
or is part of my shielding being torn away leaving me exposed?
or are these close?

Charly,
Maybe too much feeling but little understanding

Yes
it certainly is like that . .

You express yourself and the experience very well.

My only advise is to keep hanging in there. This is one of those important transitional times in your life, so try to stay stay in the center, observing what goes on, without yet trying to understand or create a final outcome. You're waiting for it to all come together. And it will, sorta. Not as an end but a new beginning. Chances are that new beginning will seem to drop out of the sky.

lot's of big smiles here, thank you :)

truth be told, starting this thread has played an immense role in me trying to stay centered and not running amok with my thoughts . . I guess I've used it for healing purposes (even if i'm not sure that agrees with 'Divination Discussion' -most probably it does though ) but I'm grateful to people who've been showing me in all their different reactions were my ways have been working against clarity
