63 to 47 for Payment

Hello Fellow Seekers,

I just landed this online copyediting gig - CloudCrowd on Facebook and it seems too good to be true. The work is simple and payment pretty ok considering you barely spend much time on the work. AND they promise payment the next day. But I'm still waiting for mine -- maybe because I began yesterday and today is Sunday. I know people who have been paid. So I asked the Yi this question about payment and drew hexagram 63 lines 1,2,3,4 moving to hex 47. There's much confusion and glitches happening at the moment -- but will these clear up and is this job worth it? Please help me answer this question.

Interestingly when I asked next about whether I can expect success on this job, I got hex. 30 lines 4,5,6, changing to 63 again.

There is a need for patience, as I think that your money will show up this week, so stay cool but remember that if there is any problem now with payment, beware next time you send of work into space.

If you mean by "success' the continuation of your editing/copying, probably not, looks like a case of, "you have done the job asked of you, that's it". Next one please.

Would you mind going into more detail as to how you have derived your answer from the I Ching - and if you also used your knowledge of astrology to reach your conclusion that the seeker will be paid for the work this week? I am just not seeing how 63.1.2.3.4. - 47. would lead one to be so optimistic, although I hope you are right!

Line 63.2 is telling her not to chase these people as they will pay within the week. No astrology for this one, didn't even think of using a chart here.

Ah, yes, I can see how that could apply. The fact that line 63.4 also shows up here makes me skeptical, however. I'm thinking that perhaps all the high hopes expressed in "63.2 On the seventh day you will get it" do not materialize with 63.4 then coming along and saying, "The finest clothes turn to rags." This is certainly a question where it will be really useful for the seeker to give us a follow up! Please do let us know, Anita.

In actual fact I do not see line 63.4 as complete doom and gloom at all, as it suggests that of course problems are bound to occur in a medium such as the internet where you don't actually see the person in question. But it does not signify anything major, but it acts as a warning to not to make a similar mistake in future.

While 63.4 could indicate a minor glitch - as Anita herself mentioned the payment might have been delayed because the following day was a Sunday - the real reason I was interpreting these lines as meaning she would not be reimbursed for her efforts was because the change lines leading to hex. 47. Oppression, the poster child for gloom and doom hexagrams.
Wilhelm's translation for Oppression:

Oppression. Success. Perseverance.
The great man brings about good fortune.
No blame.
When one has something to say,
It is not believed.

This reads to me as if the I Ching is telling her that she did her part and did it well, no blame, but unfortunately her claim that she was to be paid for her efforts is not believed.
Further, the I Ching advises,

The superior man stakes his life on following his will.

This sounds like encouragement not to become cynical after a bad experience.
In other words, it's not advice on how to wait and be patient because good things lie ahead, it's advice on how to handle disappointment.

Anyway, I'm just writing this out to explain where I got my ideas from. Naturally I hope the hexagrams were just reflecting her uncertainty at the moment she asked the question and that ultimately Anita does get paid.

Hex 47 suggests that she wants the money and quickly, so she is was worried that she was not automatically paid, it concerned her but for the "superior" woman it should not be a big deal as she should be patient and ride the storm of uncertainty. Wait.

Hello Fellow Seekers,

thank you for your answers and now I will tell you how it turned out and is turning out. I got paid next day by midnight in full. And 47 refers to the wait before work begins again full swing. The company is owned by famous people like co-founder of Napster, and couple of other highly creditable guys. So I can believe them when they say that they're ironing out glitches (being just 2 weeks old!) and cooking up a wider and more "fun" variety of projects. And I have a good rating so I'm not gonna get busted. In addition, my referral crowd has grown to more than a 100. All anticipating more work. Most of them are entirely new to Cloud Crowd. Do any of you have a "half decent" singing voice? Then there's fun and easy work for you too, besides the copyediting and grading text and website copy.
