Hello. I am not in any position to say one way or the other and in my experience neither does your I Ching reading. I have had this hexagram constantly for the past 5 months mostly unhanging but also with some moving lines. In fact I dread getting this hexagram.
My question was different - a whole life drama of immense pressure and looking back the reading was saying exactly that - circling between before and after. I decided to look at small questions - and stop fearing as if my decision was a life or death one. When I discovered smaller more modest requests I feel that my castings are spot on
Perhaps you should so the same. Rather than a black or white situation ask simpler smaller questions or perhaps make your relationship simpler. When we go round and round with a question it is difficult knowing where we can start or finish - a bit like a fair ride.

I have a way of conceptualizing hex 63 unchanging. It is as though a pot of boiling water is sitting atop a fire, which is a reference to the constituent trigrams, water on top and fire below. The advice is to keep the pot on the boil. Add more water to the pot when it is boiling low and add more fuel to the fire when the fire is about to go out. The situation needs your constant attention.
In other words, it doesn't seem to be saying to leave X.
As a side note, I think when a person is giving us more than an average amount of trouble, then he might be experiencing some sort of trouble himself which he has not told you about yet. There may emerge a way for you to help him settle down, when all becomes known.
