i asked about y exboyfriend. we split 2months ago. he's got new lover so i thought we can be friends because i was feeling him close as familly but last time we met he made me change my mind.
so i asked what does he wants from me? 64
is this saying he is not ready, i mean.. .that he wants that we stay each one in its place, but not close to each other?? or is he thinking to come back to me someday, somehow??

before, a month ago , i asked what can i expected from him?
i get 23 5, 6 > 8 splitting appart, with lines saying about his new lovers and a fruit that is not eaten yet and i thought about our friendship and as the second hexagram was talking about union, i 've seen it clear.
But now i'm thinking that maybe the hex 8 as showing my wish, my desire and that it can be that i'm the weak man looking at the past instead of walking fordward

I am one of those people on the forum who don't really believe in doing readings about other people's thoughts and motivations, because it can get confusing. Is it answering about them or about your state of mind? This question is doubly confusing. What does it mean? What does he expect from you? What he wants you to do? Were you thinking about whether or not he wants you to remain friends when you asked it?
But assuming The I Ching is commenting on whether or not he wants you to remain friends, it does indeed seem like he's not yet ready for that step.

It's true taht asking about someone else can be tricky because many people says that IC talks to the person to ask... so maybe it can be me who is not ready
Anyway, i was understanding something like you, that he isn't ready to get close to me. But after 2 years of relation and longer friendship is hard to me to raise him from my life... but maybe is better to wait the ice's melting and see if still something alive. patience, is a great lesson.

i 'm feeling as the young fox who wants to crosse the river to go back home but the river is to wide and there is no home to go back.... so , time to wandering and start a new cycle.

i found this thread and i felt it close to my situation.
just the line 6 is missing: " His work commands respect. In the end good fortune comes."
and then arrives hexagram 17 , saying :
" Thus the superior man at nightfall. Goes indoors for rest and recuperation "

It's nice that talks about familly but now i'm a bit alone as we had same friends (his)
and i'm staying appart of his world.

Maybe 17 suggests that you need adapt to the current situation between you two and not resist or confront his decision. 37 might be your inner family that needs to be attended. 37 Lines show the ways to take care of your family. Maybe its an additional advice to your 64 reading. Line 37.2 makes me think whether h64 is about you and not him. I do believe that Yi sometimes answers about other people , however in this context , I was thinking maybe Yi was asking you whether the time is mature to be friends as it seems you still have feeling for him.

H64 , from my personal experience , comes when I really need to get done with a matter and that "unfinished" really makes me anxious and I take it as to be cautious because walking in such hastiness is not very helpful. The angst to put things in a order makes the foot move quicker as its appropriate. I have ruin many painting while i was trying a new technique and I was sooo into see it finished that didn't wait for the paints to dry ... I knew it I should wait but couldn't resist . Yi gave me once again 64... no buts...

Give him the time he needs to figure out what kind of relationship he can handle with you and give yourself some time too to get acquainted with the current situation between you.
