64. Timing of an earthquake?

I'm not sure if i mentioned this in an earlier thread, but I have a friend who has become quite psychic since having picked up a live electrical wire and getting jolted accross the moon. Anyway, he uses this new insight mainly in working with animals but he also picks up random info. He tells me he is constantly getting now that there will be a major earthquake in the NW part of America. However, he hasn't gotten any timing indication so I asked the iChing, "When will the earthquake Loren is sencing actually manefest?" I received hexagram 64.
Can anyone tell me what that translates to timing wise?

Interesting, i just was checking out the Raymond Lo website that Jesed recommended and I see where he too is perdicting earthquakes in the Northwest based on feng shui.

I'm not good at coming up with timelines using the I Ching, but 64 generally has the connotation of something that's just about to happen. Of course, in geological time, that could be within the next 30 years or longer, based on the predictions of seismologists concerning the anticipated great San Andreas quake that some non-experts have predicted will knock California into the Pacific Ocean!

I wonder if any others in the geomancy field have had anything to say about an impending quake in the NW?

BTW, I wonder if your friend's psychic ability with animals would help me understand the problems I'm having with a dog I adopted from a friend who recently passed away. I'd be glad to post a description of her behavior and background in the Open Space section of this website if he'd be able and willing to give me some insight.

1.- According with traditional teachings:

Hex 64 goes From water to fire

Water, Mountain, Thunder, Wind, Fire = 5 hexagrams * 45 = aprox 225 days

225 day/6 lines= each line is aprox 37.5 days

Line 1 From June 17 to July 24
Line 2 From July 25 to August 31
Line 3 From September 1 to October 8
Line 4 From October 9 to November 15
Line 5 From November 16 to December 23
Line 6 From December 24 to January 31

Unchanging hexagram. Means the issue doesn't depends on the action of the consultant. Is a pure objective situation, beyond human control. When the hexagram is unchanging, the ruling line has the control. In hex 64 is line 5.

So, before december 24, 2005


2- According with mahematical method.
Date of question December 18 (or 17?), 2005
Month: Rat (water)
Day if 18: Rat (water)
Day if 17: Pig (water)

Subject Line (NW part of America): Horse (Fire)
Key element (eartquake): Pig (water)

1.- The earquake is the Key element, under aspect P (means power, fear)

2.- The Key element is Pig, because is the only line under P aspect. Is very strong, because is water just like month and day. Means, the earquake would be very strong.

3.- The Key element is Hidden element (hidden under line 3, wich is the Subject Line). Means: the earquake is unmanifested now, under NW part of America.

4.- The Hidden element is water. Because is the same element that the month and the day, it will be go out of hide. Means: the earquake will manifest in near future

5.- Water destroys Fire. Even more: Pig strikes agaist Horse. Means: the earquake strikes strongly against NW part of America

6.- Eartquake would go out of hide in next Pig, Snake or Tiger day/month.

Nice that the dates are in the next couple of days just so we'll know the final outcome of my toss right away, rather than having to wait for eternity.
Meanwhile, It's started snowing big time up here in the pacific NorthWest. Not an earthquake, but sure fits the timing of the toss for when something major happening nature wise up here.

News reported today: 5 consecutive earthquakes in NW of Mexico:
a) 6:05 pm of January 3.... 4.9 Richter
b) 8:45 pm of January 3.... 4.6 Richter
c) 1:30 am of January 4.... 4.4 Richter
d) 1:32 am of January 4.... 6.7 Richter
e) 2:17 am of January 4.... 4.7 Richter

This earthquakes were born in the California Gulf.

The mayor earthqueake (6.7 Richter) hit in 5 States of Mexico, where earthquakes dind't hit traditionaly. This is the only of the 5 earthqueakes that get more than 6.5 Richter.

January 4 is, in Chinese Calendar, a Snake day (as Yi Jing had told... point 6 in mathematical interpretation of my original answer).

Some lessons for me:
a) Mathematical method works better than Traditional to predict accurate dates

b) It was too risky give a prediction, because the question was unaccurate. (it wasn't clear if "NW of America" was NW of United States or NW of the American Continent; and it wasn't clear the calendaric reference: days, weeks, months or years).

I should act with most precaution in the future.

And in general there was no personal harm with those earthquakes.

Hi Jesed,
Thanks for this update. I am in the state of Washington, the Northwest area of the United States. I was naturally being very alert to any earth rumblings from Nov. 16 - Dec. 23, the dates you originally thought might be significant. As it turned out on Dec. 24 we were in Portland, which is in the NorthWest area of Oregon when a fierce rainstorm knocked out the power for several blocks where we were. As the doors on the building operate on electricity, my husband was actually shut out in the rain until the power was restored.
What's interesting here: The disruption was unusual and diruptive enough to be more than just a bad rainstorm, it happened in the NW as we predicted and it happened very close to the day we had thought "something" might occur.
What is not in alignment: It was not an earthquake and it did not happen within the time frame we were anticipating, and I later learned that the feng shui prediction that makes 2006 not good for the NW doesn't kick in until after Chinese New Years, which isn't until Jan29.
Even so, I think it is worth noting that I was focusing on an earthquake happening about that time and place and something of an earthquake in nature did happen to me. Likewise, you manefested an earthquake in your NW on a Snake day. So perhaps we are learning how our own inner clocking systems work.
