Good Morning
It seems auspicious, doesn't it? It will involve buying one and I am afraid to spend savings. I would buy a simple and cheap one, but it is part of my concern.
I am interested in making washable covers for notebooks that have my embroidery as well. I am not an artist, but my projects go in an artistic direction, not a series production.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. The lines even seem to talk about my neighbor, he's a tailor, and I was thinking of asking him to give me some lessons. My skills are really basic and I don't even know how to thread. I am always a little afraid to express myself and be creative and at the same time I know that there is something real about me.

Hi Mutatis!

Rem here. Nice to meet you here.

Here's my take on your reading:

Q: Your question is thinking of learning to sew (and you mentioned about your neighbor who's a tailor)

Hexagram 9.1.4.5 to 50

9 means restraint.
It suggest a difficulty in moving or taking action.
The reading, I presume, is more about how you feel about learning to sew

The Yi suggests this because:
You feel doutbful about yourself (dense clouds, no rain)
esp since you're gonna learn from someone (Western altars)

But the Yi says, go on and learn and grow if sewing is natural to you and a joy to do.
(A noble one cultivates the natural pattern of character.)

Line 5 suggeset action. Yi tells you to take action, your truth and confidence is something you can grow with the guidance from a teacher-neighbor.

50 is about settig a new course on your life. Learning something what you love practically transforms everything in your life.

(50 is a vessel, use for cooking. In Alchemy, its transformation, transmutation)

Hope that help.

Hello Rem.
Thanks for answering. :)
This seems pretty accurate.
I am scared about learning plus excited about it. Everything related to creativity os good for me but I often get scared or I have never been able to consider make a life of it.
I would need to buy a sewing machine and that is also a reason to consider it thoughtfully.
First person I can think of is my neighbour because he is a tailor and he is very much affected by the pandemic situation.
I think I will buy the machine and also because I love embroidering and used to design covers for notebooks, and Maybe now I could be in charge of the whole process.
Thank you again for taking the time. 50 as you read it and I understand it seems to be auspicious.
:)

Hi, I'm not interpreting your reading but as a dressmaker I've had many sewing machines over the years and it's rare that they actually break although sometimes they just need an inexpensive service to correct any tension issues etc.
Please do speak to your neighbour and I'm sure he'll agree with that.
In terms of sewing etc. you already know it's such a joy to create and I'm always learning and creating some new idea with mine.
Have fun with it all......Liss

Thank you! This is such a sweet comment. I do have an old one at my ex's house, but, even though we are in very good terms, I was thinking it was too old. Maybe I should consider fixing it, probable it is about maintenance. It was a gift from a friend whose mother passed.
I would consider that. 💌 Thank you

I find the old ones are easier to use to be honest - I bought a machine from a garage sale a few years ago - the woman was moving into a nursing home and no longer capable of sew anymore. My guess would be the machine is least 50 years old and it works perfectly and it's such a dream to use.

I will try with the one I already have then. Mine is about 50 or 60 years old. Very heavy 😉 I will need help to move it. 🌸🌸🌸

I did 2 more readings.

To buy a new machine 28.3.4.5 > 7

It seems to be of excess to invest in one now. Any line is encouraging it as a good idea. The most auspicious one (5) is kind of neutral.

Using the one I already have 19.6 > 41

This seems to consider decreasing as a reasonable state of mind, to get close to my purpose of learning:

Line 6

'Great-hearted nearing
Good fortune, no mistake.'

I also like the great - hearted image as something being meaningful and 41 as decreasing, as not needing to buy something. Pretty translucent, isn't it?

I will have to give maintenance to it.

For giving it maintenance I got 51 unchanging. I was puzzled until I read this:

Image

'Rolling thunder: Shock.
A noble one in fear and dread sets things in order and is watchful.'

Sequence

Shock follows from Hexagram 50, the Vessel:
'In the charge of the sacred vessel, none equals the eldest son, and so Shock follows. Shock means new beginnings.'

Pair

Shock forms a pair with Hexagram 52, Stilling:
'Shock begins; Stilling stops.'

I will need to wait until the end of the month for picking it up and I will. 😁

Cheers to your new venture! Just go on! Little accomplishments are the start of something big! It's exciting to create and becoming creative, so I wish you all the best! :)
