A Choice to be made

Hello Friends,
I am currently into a very indecisive state and am very anxious as to what choice should I make. I asked the Yi as to how will my life be in terms of career in two places. The first Place X is the place where I am currently staying and where I am at a standstill in career and frustrated. The second Place Y is my home country where I feel like going. I am currently staying abroad in place X.

The hex for place X is 43. 5,6 changing to 14 and
The hex for place Y is 10.4,6 changing to 60

Any help and insight into this will be greatly appreciated. I need to know which indication is better for my career. My happiness in connected to my career so I need to know what step to take. Thanks in advance.

Hex 43.5 This place is good but at the moment you remain unconvinced, you must be determined to succeed and you need to get to the root of the problem and sort it out then your frustration will disappear.

Hex 43.6 You feels sad because things are not working out the way you wanted but when you come to your senses you will realize the truth.

Hex 14 suggests that staying in X will prove to be most beneficial to you in the long run, success in great measure is indicated.


Hex 10.4 suggests that in returning to Y you must be very careful, it is a risky thing to do but with care the move can be successful.

Hex 10.6 says that you will only know if you have made the right decision after you have worked for awhile, success depends upon how you fare in your new job, that is if you can find the job that you want.

Hex 60 suggests that career wise you will be faced with limitations, perhaps it will be hard to get employment, or the job that you get will not be what you expect at all.

It seems that after you have rearranged your life in X you will find much better opportunities that will lead to peace, contentment and a good job. But it is down to you to make it happen, nothing comes easy, you have to fight for what you want but in the knowledge that you will be successful.

If your career is where you get your identity, and your musings seem to be sourced in fear, then let your career make the choice - what has the better path for development of it, and so of you?

The way to get over fear is to seek protection in a group and that can include devotion to one's career - you thus follow the path of the receptive (if being reactive, or mountain if being proactive)

Thats an interesting answer Chris - interesting that you locate the source of the question in fear. Fear often does seem to be the unacknowledged basis of alot of choice type questions.

In one way, you've already answered your own question, even before consulting the Yi. If Place X represents standstill and frustration, and Place Y represents where you feel like going and if you understand that happiness is important in your career path, then the choice is obvious, right? Go home. You don't have to consult the Yi for that. And yet you have enough doubts about that to consult the Yi. Interesting. Perhaps there's a reason that you shouldn't go back home?

Anyway, if I look at what the Yi gave you in response to your questions, I read it this way:

"The hex for place X is 43. 5,6 changing to 14"

The Yi's telling you to decisively separate yourself from X; if you do this, it represents a significant possession - a better career perhaps, or a better situation generally.

The hex for place Y is 10.4,6 changing to 60""

This one is really interesting for me, cuz if I read it right, it's saying that you should be very careful about going home and you should limit that idea somehow. I'm not sure if the Yi is saying that if you go home you should put a time limit on it and stay there for only a certain length of time, or whether it's saying something else. But it's definitely issuing you a warning to watch your step if you follow your idea to return home, and it's saying something about limiting your actions according to a timeframe in some way. One possibility is the one I already mentioned (put a time limit on your return home); another possibility is to consider working somewhere else entirely, someplace you haven't even considered so far - Place W.
