Hello blissful.Hi Community, I've had a rough year, with losing my beloved work community and long term relationship, and feeling genuinely lost in immigration being on my own with no support. I don't have a lot of people to ask for guidance, so I asked IChing.
I said how lost and defeated and helpless I feel right now, and If I could get any guidance.
I got 1.4.6 changing to 5.
I did some research on my own, and got confused and even scared about some commentary on 1.6 on Chinese IChing websites (which I use with browser translation to get more information).
1.4 (I think) speaks about leaping into the abyss, like the dragon just gathered strength, where we transition from lower trigram into the upper one. But the dragon might fly and might fall.
1.6 speaks of arrogant dragon that is too high, "A state of fullness cannot be made to last forever", but I havent' been in a state of fullness for maybe like 10 years? With the last 3 years being particularly challenging. Could that be a warning for the future? There's nothing I'm seemingly arrogant about atm, but I could be blind about some aspects of myself, I don't know anymore.
After pondering, I asked to clarify what that line 6 is meant for, and got 17 UC. I have no experience with this hex, so for now, I see it as confirmation of that yes, 1.6 is yet to unfold, it will follow?

So, is this reading tells me to pull myself up by my bootstraps (active energy of 1) yet to wait for appropriate moment (5 related)? Did anyone cast 1.6?
Appreciate any insight you might have.
I might add too that hexagram one line six can also mirror your inner feelings of isolation. It is not that you have some form of arrogance, just loneliness and isolation. The flying dragon may have flown too high, and is out of touch with everyday affairs.Hello blissful.
There is a lot of good information others have posted here and it will be hard to say more than they already have, but to just say this a little differently, I think that sometimes when we come from a negative state of mind, we tend to read the answers with a negative state of mind.
I think the real key here is line four, line 6 is, while not meaningless, I think is a key to get you to hexagram 5 which talks about waiting and nourishment. In a lot of the lines in hexagram 5 things seem harsh, but in line six, unexpected events occur which changes sadness into joy. That I think is the essence of hexagram 5. In line four of hexagram one, we are presented with a choice. But in essence either choice leads to better things. Hexagram 5 is timing. It takes time, we wait and wait and wait, but, the point of transition has been reached… I think in the long run you will be all right.
