A few small things:

Every once in a while when I go to post I get a message that I have to accept cookies first, but a) it doesn't not give me the option to do so, and b) I've already accepted cookies for this site. My work-around (which works without too much hassle) is that I just 'back out' of that particular thread, and come back in a try again - and this usuall works. But I wanted to mention it as maybe something that can be looked at at some point.

Besides that, a few (really) small things - perhaps that we'll just have to live with with the new set-up: I don't see my profile info anymore in my posts. And it used to be when you clicked on someone's name, there was an option to see all their posts - but that seems to be gone. I know there's now a search feature where you can look up posted by their author, but it only seems to work for current members. But ... I just tried the more general 'forum search' and typed in a former member's name in 'keywords' and it worked - so there is a workable work-around.

You can still see everyone's previous posts and threads.

You click on their name then when you have gone to that box click their name again. You will then get to another box with a number of options in the centre one of which is labelled 'find'. By 'find' there is a drop down menu and you will see options to find all their posts and all their threads. Very useful when someone is ringing a bell in your head and you need backstory or whatever.

Yes, and you can also click on the 'messages' text above 'find'.

For some members (ahem .... ) 😮 when you click on their name a second time what you see instead is 'This member limits who may view their full profile.' BUT, I can still get to the list of all your posts by clicking on their name and then simply clicking on the - e.g. 12,098 (which is the number of messages) below the 'Messages' text.

Best, D.

Oh I have never come across that even for those who are invisible online, I just tried it with Liselle, who is invisible online and I can easily go to 'find'. Maybe it's to do with setting on who can see one's profile but I don't recall anything much about that.

Actually in the old forum we had a green light that said were logged in but one could switch that off so no one could see when you were logged in but now what do we have ? Is it the annoying little green head and shoulders over our avatar I wonder ?

I have turned off facility for people to see when I'm online yet I still have that stupid little green circle with the head in covering up my actual head in the avatar. This is one for @Liselle I think. Why has Liselle got no little green man ?

Looks like my privacy setting is not working all of a sudden ?

I have my online status turned off, too, but I always see my own indicator. I don't see yours or David's, at least not right now. Actually, Trojina, I've never seen yours, if that's good news? I have no idea what the point is of seeing our own.

Sorry, but I really don't know anything about them. 🤷‍♀️

I can see mine and other people's, well some other people's, that is if that little green circle is an online indicator, which it must be I guess. I guess we can see our own and those who haven't disabled the indicator. Good news you've never seen mine must mean the privacy setting is working thanks.

I was mistaken above, and have edited my text. I can still see and get to your list of messages - as I noted above - I guess even if other aspects of your profile are 'locked' or otherwise unavailable.

About the cookie permission thing, @Freedda - sorry, this is clunky because there is one consent for the WordPress part of the site and one for the forums.

Not being able to refuse cookies... I believe doing so would break a lot of the website, especially the forums - anything where the website needs to 'know who you are' in order to know what to show you.

Ideally I should have a more sophisticated solution to this, I know. It's on a list.

Thanks Hilary. Not that big a thing now that I know a work-around, which is to 'back out' of a thread, and then open it up again. It is mostly odd just because of how inconsistent it is: sometimes the cookie message pops up and sometimes it doesn't.

Thanks, D.

So it's all inside the forum? V odd - unless you are deleting cookies when you close the browser?
