Well Grace, forget about the reading just have a makeover - I would so love one myself!

But the reading for me means overall renewal of spirit, of your life anything you can change for the better. Revamp your environment, find new ways to think and feel about things and Beauty will come to you from everywhere. - Liss

Be more like a cat. Claws, yes, but purr more too.

I agree. Changing ones appearance changes (revolutionizes) ones perception of themselves; even if it is in the form of your appearance rather than deeper things, it can be an expression of those deeper things.

In the spirit of 49, sometimes radical appearance 'makeovers' need to stay in touch with ones age, rather than clinging to an old look that reflects an old and outdated attitude, which we hopefully outgrow and shed.

I say definitely go for the makeover. You got 49 and 22... could it be any clearer!? Shed the old look! and the context is 22, Grace... Isn't 22 all about beauty and showing who you really are? I think Goddessliss hit the nail on the head here though, and the reading does seem to say to me, sure go for the makeover, but don't just take on the new look, but a new attitude maybe. Be the new you:)

Thank you all

I don't really understand what kind of makeover I should have (I am not feeling a need for one)

I've asked for clarification and got 17.1.4.5 > 2 which has not really clarified anything.

I changed my hair radically last year and I like it like this, I don't really want to change. I also took up sport and am slooooowly getting into shape - again, this is on track however slowly, so not sure what makeover it would need.

The only thing I can think of changing is the way I dress. I used to wear skirts and high heels but then my current job is very relaxed and I felt peer pressured into dressing down except I don't have any decent trousers so look really scruffy now when I wear my old jeans. I cannot imagine that 49 > 22 was just telling me to buy new jeans haha maybe just that I need to think of myself as more beautiful as currently I have this vision of myself as an obese ugly person which realistically I know I am not, but that's how I feel about myself, so maybe the message is about revolution in my view of self?

I don't think this is about a make over or even about appearance though it would be fine to get one. I think it has to do with acting out with courage but natural courage that the universe has at this time cast upon you.

And the result will be a true make over that is more than just skin deep.

Makeover as an inside job

The only thing I can think of changing is the way I dress.

I am a big fan of Hexagram 22, which I think is short-changed in most people's view. There's an old saying in engineering: "If it doesn't look right, it isn't." I'm thinking of structure here, the skyscraper's structural engineering, and one's physical structure. I've had a million years of body work, move like a happy teenager, am physically graceful, everything works and nothing hurts, and I may be the oldest person at online clarity. (Don't tell anyone.)

My favorite way of working on my structure is with The Alexander Technique, which gently realigns your spine-- your head-neck-back relationship to be more precise -- strengthens your body and your mind.

I don't know where you live, but there are many Alexander Technique teachers in the UK, the US, and other countries.Lessons are painless, the teacher barely touches you, and you learn a new, balanced way to live in your body.

Actors and other performers find it invaluable. Here are links that will lead to others if you find Alexander work interesting:

http://www.stat.org.uk in the UK and

http://www.amsatonline.org in the USA.

Alexander teachers teach "good use." The Use of the Self as it Manifests in the Body, if you want to get a larger sense.

People go because they are in pain or to enhance performance skills. I went because someone bought me a lesson. Lesson two changed my life forever. I'll never stop. It's subtle, centering, enlivening work. And does make you look at your best because you are at your psycho-physical best.

Or, you might get a massage every week, or for some serious structural change, get Rolfed. (Rolfers are hard to find but it's powerful work. Often painful too)

Or perhaps try Tai Chi or martial arts of some kind.

Think about turning your body into your best friend.

I won't. But I will take you up on a bet :). I don't know who is but I'm 68 and I know of one member a couple up on me, and most likely there are others. But I would never be so foolish as to ask a woman her age. A chatting couple knows they're old when they share their blood pressure readings rather than their sexual fantasies.

Sex and blood pressure and rock and roll

LOL.

But why either/or?

Not admitting anything, but one reason I took up the Alexander work was that teachers teach into their 90s and just get better and better at it. I met one teacher who, at 88, toured college dance departments every year to get the dancers moving "forward and up," the Alexander mantra. I have a lot to look forward to.

"Forward and up " has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Another aspect of the work: my daughter, at 12, was diagnosed with scoliosis, the docs wanted to operate. NOT so fast, I said. Had her Rolfed and then took her to an Alexander Teacher. Within a few months, her spine straightened out enough for the doctor to put down his scalpel.

She looked better because she was better. Not just her spine, but her confidence level. The quality of her outer presentation of herself matching her inner strength. Is that not a 22 possibility?

Feels very 22 to me to regard the "quality of movement" as an essential part of oneself. Someone with horrible posture and clunky movement patterns broadcasts something about who they are without every saying a word. Posture and movement can be improved.

Thus, body work might be considered a makeover.
