I'm a big Alfred Huang fan, but I have a question.

What does Huang mean with associating the months with specific hexagrams? Does it mean that is the monththe energy is in effect? Is that when action/contemplation should take place?

Does anybody know what he means here?

Greetings To All...

Hello Bobby, I agree with all the accolades that you can give to Alfred Huangs Book. I was asked a few days ago about what I Ching Books would I recommend, and I haven't looked at his book for a few years. I dug out some of my books, and his book is another that I would strongly recommend. What I think that he's making refrence to is, that's the time of year that each of the Hexagrams energy is most favorable. Each trigram is a symbol for a particular temperament. Meaning that we can learn more about the trigram li, by studying the abstract qualities of fire. The time of the years are symbolic to the specific temperament, or temperature of that time of year. Meaning that Hexagram 1, is being external, expressing the will. May/June is the time of the year where we become more external. This also corresponds to 12:00 noon. This time of day corresponds to the time of day that it's easier to perform physical activity, to be external. This was the time of day, and the time of the year, that each hexagrams ritual was performed to be in harmony with Nature, and to manifest this energy from within.
I Hope This Helps
