A relationship... Sort of.

A belated Happy New Year to everyone! It's good to be back on Clarity after an interesting year. I asked the I Ching "What do you think of X as a partner for me?" as in a love relationship. I was thinking along the lines of are they good for me. And I got 14.2.3.6>51

Seems like a good reading. Line 2 suggests maybe a lot will need to be invested in this relationship. Also suggests to me that there will be a lot to get moving. Perhaps that something needs to be accumulated before things can get going. They are very helpful with moving furniture etc so could simply be saying to keep them around for such daunting tasks as moving the couch. Line 3, that I will need to make some kind of sacrifice, but I have no idea what. And line 6, that I will receive some kind of help from the heavens with this person. I might need it! I could also see this as get packing, give it up, something better comes along... I don't know what to think now! I'm inclined to go with something more like the former, but the cynic in me has to see the latter. 51 from my experience is usually a very positive outcome, and indeed, unexpected. Any thoughts or experience with any of these lines or on the reading in general?

It sounds good to me too! Not sure how the "loading a truck" (14.2) will play out, but I assume here that the prince does offer it (14.3), since heaven responds and blesses (14.6). 51 is impossible to pin down, but it does show great vigour, and as you said it can often turn out fine if one handles it correctly. You Go Girl ! :claps: nice answer....looks like powerful stirring feelings are involved here. hex 51 appears often where there is passion which shakes one up.

The answer also asks alot of you. You have to be your best in this, to give what you've got (14.3) to be generous, maybe to go to the next level in how you experience love ? (14.6) and of course this takes you somewhere (14.2) it moves you on....its an experience that furthers your whole growth

It's quite a 'big' answer.

OMG I hope this is not someone totally unavalable with 7 kids and 4 dogs and a happy marriage who lives abroad or something then i am going to have to 'revise' my answer but he moved your couch...and if a man moves your couch in my experience it's a very good sign. It's always nice to see a man working on your behalf isn't it

Thanks:bows:! Of course they are not available... That would be too good to be true. Not married or anything, but this person is not really emotionally available at this time unfortunately. Just a friend, and a good friend. But, like everyone, they have their issues. I thought I saw some potential there, and then thought maybe not. There does seem to be a connection between us, and just wondered what the Yi thought. You never know.

A lot of chemistry, and a LOT of...stuff..well, looking at your last post, that does seem like the case..I'd give this one a nice, gentle pass if I were you.. No worries, Precision Grace... The parade is already treading water... There is some truth in what you are saying. I hadn't seen that angle, but I guess with that big cart to laod, could very well be a lot of work. There was a lot of chemistry here, and as Trojan pointed out, stirring feelings. And conversely, a lot of obstacles as well. Reason we're friends. I get 14 for questions about this person a lot. 51 too. The other one 2 that come up a lot are 49 and 53. Good ol' 53. The it's going to take forever hexagram. The truth is, I think as a potential partner, this person would be great with me, not just for me. My gut feeling on it was very much like Trojan's interpretation. But, for whatever reason, they just don't see it or feel it. No sparks they say. I'm intrigued! No sparks for DWF! Whah.... I think he's bonkers! So, anyway, what I want almost doesn't matter. There has been no offer of a serious relationship or declaration of feeling from this person, so at least for the time being, I'm single, still. aww shucks. Well, it could be a case of having to deal with a Whole Load of C*** before you can get jiggy with it (been listening to old Will Smith CDs, can you tell?) I guess, but is this guy worth the bother?

Is he worth it? Eh... Probably not. I don't know. Gave me 51 as the transformed hex, so something is going to surprise me somewhere. Who knows?! Maybe the IC was just speaking to my general desire for a companion... And I was thinking in terms of hypothetically, so perhaps the Yi is just saying, in theory, this would be like this.... Only time will tell I guess.

There's really no cause for despondency or ice cream in this answer. if it were all too much then hex 28 or something would show not this answer. So even if not romantic it's a good connection IMO thats good to go along with to whatever level it takes. 14.3 can require one to be quite altruisitc so maybe if he just wants to be friends thats a sacrifice on your part but its still good.

I don't see 51 as a suprise to come as much as the jolt this connection has bought into your life. It could be this jolt, a kind of awakening, in itself brings the enrichment of the hex 14 perhaps.

That statement is the very epitome of hexagram 14......".great with me, not just for me " Hex 14, great possessing, great having and you aren't just thinking in terms of what you get , it's more than that.

There's a big difference, quite a shift between seeing someone who'd suit you to seeing someone you know would suit one another...there is definately sharing potential here IMO.

I'm concerned that if you hide in the dark eating ice cream you might miss opportunites that I feel are there.


Well prediction is always dodgy especially in matters of the heart but I liked this answer...and heck you say you got 49 and 53....53 takes its time, nice and slow so maybe you get to know each other gently. You cannot do that if your head is stuck in a bucket of ice cream.

Well, what I got was a bear hug that crushed my lungs and non stop chatter I couldn't get away from. Bloody men and bloody oracles I am fed up of both

I think together we make a great Jeremy Kyle show type audience. Me shouting 'go' from the left of the audience and you shouting 'no' from the other side .....all we need is someone to tell us we are both talking rubbish and a security guard to come on stage and escort someone off and take DWF backstage for counselling

I agree it's best to keep a clear eye on the reality in relationship queries whatever the answers are but I felt this couch guy had something and he might do.


Hex 59 well can be a letting go.....
