Hexagram 7 3.6. changing to 18

I asked what would be the result of a relationship I am having.

I have been feeling quite bleak, embattled and beseiged by external and internal factors for well over a year, in addition. I have found myself using military, sort of warlike methaphors for things in this time.

It didnt mess about.

I got hexagram 7 3.6. changing to 18.

The Army.

Somebody in the army carries corpses. Misfortune.

I have been carrying corpses for years. Ive got so used to it Ive forgotten im carrying this huge mass of accumulated crap. Its really not helping my situation. Misfortune.

The great ruler has a mandate to establish cities and support families
Ordinary people shall not be employed.

I have major issues with responsibilty and commitment. I know that.

Corruption.

A foundation for progress.
It is beneficial to cross the great stream.
Before the date 3 days.
After the date 3 days.

Things are not getting better. I have got to grasp these issues ( I know what they are and where they live) and make them work for me, instead of being a slave to them before I can move on. I dont see the allusion to 3 days yet.

Other castings allude to the piglets and fishes, a confidence issue I believe.

But great things are possible. It is saying that, providing I take steps. They are expecting me to get on with it now.

Its my job to do that. YChing is saying, do not disappoint everybody. Do not disappoint yourself.

Feeling beleaguered and embattled and seeking relief-- I think a lot of people can relate to that right now. The third line shows an army that is perhaps on the verge of quitting. While troops are engaged in battle their duty is to fight not to carry corpses, but here the soldiers are wavering and if they cannot stand firm their lines will break and the troops will flee. This shows how ones perception of the situation is crucial. If you believe you are defeated then you will be, but if you can find a way to continue even in the worst circumstances the chance exists for a more favorable outcome.

Hexagram 18 is taken too literally when interpreted as 'corruption'. Wilhelm comes closer to an understanding of the meaning with the name Work On What Has Been Spoiled, and very often what has been spoiled are the relations between people. As can be seen in the judgment, there is a lot of encouragement to begin working towards improving the situation.

I can stay in my comfortable, well appointed self - constructed fortress *** prison, great 1000 book library, some good friends, who I sometimes cruelly neglect by omission, good food, great wine when I want, keep chasing away the many women who have offered me their love, or I cross the big river and rejoin everyone there.
Here I feel safe, juvenile, comfortable. Its been nearly 2 years now.
On the opposite bank I would reclaim my real life, my ambitions, my writing.. Relearn healthy fear, and uncertainty. Shed the wounded selfishness I have been blanketed in. Ditch my semi - impotent defiance to a profoundly misguided perception of a materialistic, sometimes thoughtlessly cruel, shallow uncomprehending humankind. Ive temporarily forgotten how to see the good in mankind. Thats not cool.
And now I have the I Ching.
Up to me my friend, as you so rightly say.
Thats what I have to do to get my relationship back on track stronger than before. And to get my life back.

I really think I should tell her about this stuff. Duhh!
