Good morning fellow seekers,

here we are with work again...

My team has completed a project, which now needs to be finalized by delivering the report to management. The last stages of this work have been troubled, with a lot of controversy from the clients who have shown open disagreement with the project's conclusions. Although they have finally given a formal OK, it is obvious that they are going to be very vocal about their dissatisfaction.

Our position is clear but I am now having second thoughts, and wonder if it would not be wise to hold on and re-discuss our positioning to find a more amicable solution.

I asked:
How should I proceed with the project report?
27.1,3 > 52

27 seems perfectly appropriate - the open mouth symbolizes the communication of the project's results, and the hex image warns about being very cautious in one's words. Both changing lines are anyway ominous. Line 1 is about giving up one's independence and relf-reliance for envy and greed. Line 3 is a bit more cryptic but still points at a crucial error of judgement being made with potential fatal consequences. The two hexes resulting from these lines (respectively 23 and 22) are also apt to the situation - peeling away and beautifying the project's results.

The relating hex, 52, says to keep still.

Now, I think I can read this casting in two completely opposite ways. The Yi could be saying: you are getting cold feet and hanging on when all you need to do is to go on as planned, without any interference. Alternatively it could be saying: stop! you're about to make a mistake. Your results need some re-thinking.

What do then :confused:

Your precious insights will be very useful :bows:

The moving lines suggest you and your team members have overlooked something important.

Thank you Tifa.

Well the only thing we have overlooked, and which is currently stopping me from finalizing the project, is the potential consequences of all this situation. I don't think there's a winning solution - moving on as planned may cause a huge storm, and re-thinking the results may harm our credibility.

I found contradictory interpretations of 27.1,3 in the archives. Is there anyone having experience with these lines?

Apparently you are the bearer of bad news. Suppose your company does marketing research about the introduction of new products into foreign countries. (I've no idea what you actually do.) After research, you conclude that consumers in the target country will not accept the product as your client presently intends to offer it. Bad news for the client, but worse news if they spend money to advertise and distribute, and then the product does not sell -- as often happens. In your case I'd take line 1 'your magic tortoise' as your intuition or best judgment, which shouldn't be let go, and line 3 'turning away from nourishment' as failure to properly advise the client, whose proper nourishment can lead to a solid relationship (52). Isn't there some way to sugarcoat the pill? If the conclusion of your report is solid, you will be saving them money in the long run.

Hi Cris,

warning this is a crazy association but its the first image I saw when read your thread
* cough*

52 = quietening the heart . think of a cardiography
27.1.3 = indicates/warns for losses : think of a business graph

how to 52 the 27s , maybe by reducing the losses.

Thank you!

Thank you so much Tom, Gato and Maria for your insights. The situation was very difficult and it took me a couple of days after getting your responses to (slowly) make up my mind. This was one of those few occasions where, after following a very clear line of thought / action, all at once I saw the situation under a completely different light. So finally there were again discussions about our positioning, but only internal to our team - which I have to say was puzzled by my unusual undecidedness. We finally went as planned with no sunstantial changes (my "sugarcoating" as you very appropriately suggested Tom was extremely limited), and the storm I was expecting has not arrived as yet... we shall see.
