Hello lovely people,

I am in the process of applying for a 6 month position in Belgium. I have my doubts because it is a lower position than my current one, it barely pays for the living expenses there - I earn better in my country. And of course there is the problem of CORONA VIRUS that I can not overlook-- it is an international job in a very international city.

But doesn't life start at the end of your comfort zone? It is a very good experience for my CV and will broaden my future options. So I asked I ching, if it is a good idea to take the position if I am selected. I got 63.1.2.3 to 29.

I think changing lines are somewhat encouraging but the relating hexagram sounds negative. I would really appreciate some insight on this. Thanks!

Hi marciella, I wouldn't say that the relating hexagram sounds negative.

It only mirrors your concerns and probably asks you to stay true to your inner heart.

And 63 seems to be, yes, encouraging - if you, again, take your concerns for serious (63.1.), don't expect too much in terms of recognition (63.2.) and stay patient (63.3). It's only a 6 months position! Even if you are not selected, don't mind.

All the best

63 and the lines describe the time when we have completed one phase and the steps and precautions we need to take to set up for the next go round.
63.1 This change may be harder than anticipated. Good to pause and re-think.
63.2 You may feel somehow exposed to the world, no one will know your history or fine reputation and you feel you are having to start from square one but you will quickly regain your footing.
63.3 Eventually you will be able to master the new situation - but it will take time and effort.

I think of 29 as describing a situation where it would be helpful to have a guide who can show you the stepping stones through the swamp. If there is no one to teach you the path and you have never been in a similar situation than 29 is tricky. If you decide to accept this position you should probably do it with the awareness you are going into not just a new country but a whole new way of being. Be prepared to adapt and synchronize your steps with those around you. The key thing is that you have a strong inner conviction that this is what you want to do and feel called to do it. "With success in your heart everything you do will succeed."Ultimately you may find you are called upon to teach others.

All in all this reading seems to emphasize it's a major challenge. Weigh the pros and cons. I would thinka good connection with your immediate higher ups would be crucial.

Just to give an update, I haven't applied for the job, and only a few weeks later all the countries have shut themselves down -- we don't even have flights abroad let alone international jobs! I was supposed to start the post in June or September but it looks like things won't be "that" normal until both dates. So after all, it wouldn't matter if I got the job or not. Thanks everyone for their insight on this!

Interesting to review the lines in relation to the virus. Is 63.2 somehow a reflection on the need to wear a face mask? Does 63.3 warn that the shutdown hampers the job opportunity?

63.2 loses her face mask but says don’t waste your time looking for it.
You will get what you need after some time.

mmh so it may have meant that Marciella was going to lose this position but.. don t chase after it

63.2 maybe meant that Marciella would lose her job but she shall not run after it as she would be offered it again or another one later in time.

Losing a protective mask but not chasing it.. who knows
