Hi,

A friend sent me notification of an online literary magazine that are looking for a new senior poetry editor. It's a voluntary role, and the magazine has a good reputation as a literary & political arts publication, having been around for about 15 years. I was an Assistant Editor for another poetry magazine for about 4 years a few years back, so the new role sounds intriguing.

Interestingly, I've been involved with Scouting for over 15 years and am about to call it quits in the next few months to focus on my own poetry writing and perhaps other projects that may arise, though at this point I'm not sure what those projects might be.

So I'm unsure whether to apply--the deadline is this Friday--is this the new project the Universe is presenting to me? Or should I continue to focus on my own writing? Experience has shown that if I attempt to pass something up (i.e. a new house, or a new job opportunity), it still comes around to find me. ("What is meant for you won't pass you by.") Plus if I make the shortlist of candidates, I'm going to have to come up with some ideas for the interview as to how I see expanding the role, which I'm not sure yet of what I'd say except 'Finding the best poetry to publish.'

So I asked two similar questions:
How successful will I be in applying for this editorial job? I got 30.2.3 -> 38 (Clarity's Opposing)
What will it be like to work in this role? I got 28.1.4 -> 5 (Great Exceeding's Waiting)

The first result makes me think I won't make the shortlist for the role, and the second seems to say, even if I got the job in the end, it would prove a big burden to take on.

Can anyone add additional insight?

Cheers,
Compass

Your are walking in thick clouds which is masking what you are looking for difficult to see(38). Applying for this role is not taking you above the clouds and able to see beyond them(30). If you apply the outcomes will be either " I made the short list "or "I didn't make the short list". Perhaps, something is holding you back from setting your sights at the right level. You have already been an Assistant Editor. While this may be comfortable is this the truth that you are really looking to experience again.
30.2 - Alluding to a great harvest and supreme good fortune
30.3 - ....especially when you let go of your current thoughts that are making you old before your time.

What will it be like to work in this role? I got 28.1.4 -> 5

In this role it would be like you are wrapped up waiting for the right thing you are really looking for to come along (5). While what you need now is something that really excites you (28). Your challenge in the role would be to keep your motivation and focus high as this may not be a stimulating enough role for what you are really looking for at this time of life. Maybe it'll just be like going through the motions.

28.1 - Focus on what it is you really are looking for to fulfill the needs in your life now.
28.3 - This role isn't going to provide what you need to support your soul right now.

...or it might mean nothing like this at all for you.

Good Luck

30.2.3 -> 38 you are unable to make a decision (line 2), you want the job, but you feel you need to play it down, not getting your hopes up, by keeping your proyects in reserve. There seems to be also a lot of competition going on. This makes you feel really moody (line 3), moving on your emotion scale, from showing hope and then losing it again, affecting your thoughts in contradictionary way. It will get ugly if you don't get the position you want. Keep your cool. Still want to know how successful you will be? It does look good, even 38 promises oposition. There could be some controversy, which started apparently some time ago, when friendliness on your part was dismissed towards somebody now leading. Anyway, we fail and we learn. Elevate your game, comply with formalities and focus on small agreements first. (38) There is somebody who is going to help you.

28.1.4 -> 5, imho, this is a healthy advise to no go neither to the extremes between slacking off and anxiously overdoing it. You need to get the role first. (5)

That is a very insightful reading--thank you so much for sharing it. It feels right on the money, as to what I'm feeling. My current thoughts are making me old before my time, and I need to let go of them.

I'm at the start of my second Saturn Return (astrologically speaking), and I'm not what direction to take fully. With my first one 30 years ago, I knew where I wanted to go with my career, and by the end of my Saturn Return, I had a job in publishing and loved it, and it's led to so much opportunities since then that I'm very thankful for.

Now I'm in clouds, "waiting", knowing that I would like poetry to be a large part of the next phase of my life--it's just figuring out in what capacity, aside from continuing to write it. I don't feel this Poetry Editor job would "fully excite" me. As my second Saturn Return is happening over the next several months, I think this is going to take some clarity, meditating, and more waiting and seeing what manifests.

Thanks so much for your help, my_key!
