On the television today I saw a documentary about the Olmec culture in Mexico and there was a stela with something written, a stela found in 1999 it was said. In my eyes, some of the signs could look like those from the bronze age of China. I googled "Olmec script" and found a link to this article: http://sino-platonic.org/complete/spp273_olmec_chinese_writing.pdf (PS: this article is critical as to whether there are similarities between Chinese and Olmec pictorial signs)

In 2014 I asked for a possible connection between South America and China (LINK) and this article I see as part of a reply to that question or rather a possibility for a connection.

Often links on the internet go lost but to my surprise, a link back from 2014 is still present, also about the possibility of a connection between China and South America:

Editing: I've added a link in orange to the stone that I actually saw in this documentary. The article from the sino-platonic-org paper is handling with the Olmec pictorials in general)

Could be?
There is much evidence from different scientific disciplines that link China with the native peoples of the America's.

We're you following the Lidar discovery of the Mayan ruins in 2019?

No, unfortunately, I'm not able to read the link given unless I subscribe to the New York Times. But I can of course search for Lidar discovery on the www. Anyway it's an interesting field of study. Quipees / knotted cords have been found and described in South America but have they also been found in China? As far as I'm informed they only are briefly mentioned in the Ten Wings besides a mention that the Miao tribe in Southwestern China used such up until the beginning of the 20'th Century (I've read about them in different books without finding any trace of such a use though - until now at least)
Thank's for the link and I'll take a look at it by Googling it.

It's - the Lidar technique - is new to me. Before I'd seen egyptologists using infrared filters from satellites to see beneath the desert surface, but this one sees beneath the top of thick jungle Wau, what possibilities!

Since we are on the broad subject of native Americans
(which I keep broadening):

Have you read the short and insightful book by a Toltec shaman called
'The Four Agreements'

agreement # 2 is especially powerful:
It identifies a cognitive error most people who suffered trauma or abuse make.
Recognition of the error is Liberating.

No, I haven't, but I'm struck by a sense of synchronicity. My French teacher has an online profile, which I just looked at yesterday. She specifically talks about trying to live in accordance with the Four Agreements, and refers to the shaman you mention. I think I should see this repeated reference as a sign to at least read the book and find out what it's about.

I haven't read it.
- that the signs or glyphs found in South America could look like, with some fantasy, Chinese alike is far from studied in depth. I'll not be the one to judge whether it is or it is not; I have just wondered for years about this I mentioned (#3) the knotted Cords or Quipu'es and still asks whether other similarities between S.A. and China could be found. Utter curiosity.
