She was a ballerina in New York in 1967? They didn't tell us who she is. Tissues, indeed.

Sad though I hope she consented to be filmed otherwise it's intrusive and unkind. Can't read the blurb so don't know.

Come to think of it why would anyone film her now and compare her to her then ? How would they like it if someone filmed them young and fit and then old and feeble to compare the two.

Of course the dance she danced wasn't her just as the old body isn't her...but why did they film this ?

My reaction was completely different - I found her dancing now to be breathtakingly powerful. The only thing I disliked about the video was the cuts to her younger self (assuming that was her) so that we missed parts of it.

How to take it all depends on how it feels to her at the time of filming. I thought she might be heart broken she couldn't dance as she wanted to. I don't know how she feels when she is re enacting the dance and there's nothing to tell me. I'd feel bad to watch her suffering. I have no idea if she's suffering or if she's happy or if she's watching a film of herself when younger and copying. More information is needed for me to not feel bad to be watching her feeling bad if she does feel bad and she may not.

What's happening there could be interpreted any number of ways and as I can't read Spanish I don't know.

If it wasn't her as a young dancer there's be no point in inserting the old film presumably.

Just googled, she has Alzheimer's so did she fully consent to herself being filmed I wonder ?

I don't think she would have embraced it as strongly as she did if she was only heartbroken. It might have been bittersweet. But if it upset her more than anything else, she might have tried to push it away, or just sat and cried or something.

Which, true, doesn't address how she'd feel about it being all over the internet.

Well it's on TikTok, it's obviously gone viral and most people seem to react like Hilary.

I could be influenced by thinking of my mother who would hate to have a video of herself all over the internet, that is it would be unthinkable to put it there without her consent. Okay it's a famous ballerina who is used to publicity but I personally feel there no sense of her subjectivity here so people are saying she's thinking this or remembering that just by looking at her but they don't know what's in her mind. It might be a very private moment that's been stolen or maybe it isn't I don't know.

Moss Elk wrote in a post he deleted how the internet is full of babies who don't give consent and the line between intrusion and just sharing your cute baby videos is a fine one. I agreed with what he wrote though I can't reproduce it as he said it. I have gotten annoyed with people filming their crying 7 year old on TikTok I mean WTF can't they think of a better way of reacting to their kid than shoving a camera in it's face without his consent. Then again there are cute funny videos of little kids one doesn't think twice over consent for. There are families on youtube making their living off videoing their kids which I think is
wrong because the kids didn't consent to give their life away to public view since birth. They'll pay for it when the kids grow up and can voice an opinion.

I don't really know what one is supposed to think in that video. Whatever one is supposed to think can't just be assumed as far as I can see, it all depends on what one thinks she is going through as she performs in her wheelchair.

Agree about the children. The difference with the ballerina, I think, is that she is - like you say - performing. Most people would hate having a lot of people looking at them, but most people are not prima ballerinas.

Seems like 63.5 to me, ox-slaughtering. Good grief. (Not a reading, just my unsolicited opinion :paperbag: )

Maybe Hexagram 10? (Also not a reading.) The humans want proximity to God and a church that’s 'powerful' like the goats want salt. And yes, good grief.

I don't get it, M.E.

Are those supposed to be dollar bills? Is Humpty Dumpty supposed to be someone? He's not made to look like a certain person currently on a 3 day, 22 hour, 25 minute clock...

(Aha. I think the key here is to actually recite the whole nursery rhyme, not just notice it's Humpty Dumpty. Good one, M.E. )

Remember we were talking about personalities and intelligence in animals?
This one is amazing to me.

The video won't imbed, so just click open with youtube after the error message.

That's so sweet.

I love how the video listed the ingredients so everyone would know the chip wouldn't hurt him.

And does everyone know sweet Koko?
She was pretty amazing.
Nobler than many humans I've known.
Here she gets to meet two people from t.v. that she really liked.

In these two videos, I see Koko giving back to these people what they give out.

Notice that she laughs and plays & tickles with Robin.

And that she won't stop hugging Mr Rogers,
she had keen insight and good taste. :]

"There are only so many hours in a day...
Only so many notes a man can play"

I've some work to do that requires much time, energy, and attention.
(let's say it is about a dream deferred by thirty years, handed off to the Wind, and the Wind brought it back asking for more.)

My thanks to the handful of people here who generously give of their time and attention and wisdom.

Now Moss Elk, what could possibly be more important than posting on Clarity?

But good luck with whatever-it-is. :zen:

I just showed Liselle this and thought I'd post it here as I didn't think cats acted like this.

Reminded me of this thread

BTW I believe the originator of this thread, Mr Moss Elk aka m.e. , is now making rare guest appearances I'm sure all will be pleased to hear.

I didn't think cats acted like this.
Some cats are amazing.

I knew a sweet little grey & black tabby named Bonita.
She loved to play catch (not fetch, ahem.) with tinfoil balls.
She also sensed whenever someone was in pain.
She would jump right up and start massaging the afflicted area.
It was unbelievable, until you saw it again and again.

I never saw a cat happy to ride in the basket of a bicycle before though.
