Hi all, first post.

I play/write music (all by myself at home for over 25 years now)
but have never really made a cohesive project or "album" out of it.
asked three questions.

a while ago something like:
"Should I continue doing this and put more energy into it?"
answer: 50-6-32 Seems like a green light.

There is a person I have talked with about partnering to make a music project.
then I asked:
"Can I count on him to put forth a good effort and follow through?"
answer:
19-(3) 4 -34 Seems like another green light.

Question number 3:
But, the answer to the third question confused me.
Question: "What is the likely result of making music with him?"
22-6-36
Line 6 seems to me like another green light: "white as his only ornament. There will be no error"
But i am confused about how it turns to 36.
The difficulties of King Wen hiding having to his light seems to contradict a long endurable or desirable state. Also, Since the 'Arts' are said to be sometimes represented by 22, is line 6 a warning saying not to do it at all? :/

Maybe I asked the wrong kind of question, i basically wanted to know if it would be a good thing.
I would appreciate any insights / help with my Question # 3.
(or if you see any errors in my interpretations of question 1 or 2, please comment)

Thank you

In my experience, when there is only one line changing, the resulting hexagram doesn't really factor into the reading that much. I'd just concentrate on the changing line. In your case, the changing line is very good. This sounds like a good project.

I would note the 3rd line in hex 19, though. It does seem to imply that you might need to have some sort of discipline in order to keep things in check when you work together. But that is to be expected when working with other people.

I thought 22.6 was a lovely answer and directly responded to your question about what the result of making music with him would be. To me 22.6 says don't think about the result, put yourself in flow and just play. In this context, 36 struck me as denoting lots of rehearsal - maybe lots of private jamming and getting into the music with him before you consider taking it to the stage or studio?

Update

Question: "What is the likely result of making music with him?"
22-6-36

We met up and neither of us was really interested in the other persons musical styling/interests.

22.6 (36)
No adornment, or No Music, was the result.
Hiding the Adornment.

Look like it was simplicity all along. I think the Yi was simply saying your essential value doesn't need too much emphasis on outer "adornments".

Er maybe,

I see it as directly answering my question though.

Thanks for updating.
"Blank" is usually my experience with this line.
Most notably when I had once asked if a particular guy I really liked would contact me.
He never did.

Yes, I see what you mean ...I'm probably adding an extra dimension that wasn't needed! Well, it comes free anyway...;)
