Becoming a healer - hex 6.5 to 64

I have not posted in a very long while, a lot has changed in my life and I’m now in a position to dig a little draper into the reasons for my existence

Many times I have been told that I have natural healing abilities. I personally have never experienced it first hand but I have always felt that I would need to bring myself to a different energy plain/vibration in order to activate this ability, perhaps through meditation and other reaction techniques. We all live in such stressful times, with constant pressures, and we don’t allow ourselves to tap into our natural resources and talents. Anyway, tonight I have asked Yi, “what do I need to do to activate my healing abilities” and got 6.6 to 64. Not sure how to interpret this, what are your thoughts??

Assuming Veronica meant 6.5....

I think 6.5 points to conflict resolution and thus a great description of what healing involves, as in bringing all the various elements in one's life into harmonious balance! It leads to 64. Before Completion so maybe this is saying such work is never "complete". So perhaps in your case this means "activating" your talents will require some sort of continuing practice - like tai chi or just eating a balanced diet.

My own experience with people who seem to have natural healing abilities is that such people seem to have robust health themselves and also as a group they tend to be conflict free in their life attitudes ("Love will find a way!") and also particularly health conscious as in eating right and exercising regularly.

Now occurs to me that 6.5, arguing leading to good fortune, and 64. advising continuing, could be pointing to a counseling situation. Perhaps advice for you to align with a mentor or perhaps it's saying your advice, or maybe just talking to you, is what others find so healing. Sometimes the best healers are simply good listeners!

Veronica, a few of us assume that you mean 6.5 to 64. So going with that ... one name for Hex 6 is 'Dispute'; another name I quite like is 'Contrary (or Contradictory) Motion.'

This hexagram has the trigrams Heaven above, Water below. I've heard that it describes the 'contrary motion' of these two: heaven - the sky the sun, starts and Milky Way - travels westward across the sky; the great rivers in China flow from west to east, to empty into the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, Pacific Ocean.

Based on this, I imagine a void or gap appearing as these two energies, etc. go off in opposite directions; and sometimes this gap can get filled with not so good stuff - what some might call a 'dispute'.

And when I think of this 'dispute' (this gap, void) it brings to mind the idea of a 'healing crisis' - a health, mental, or spiritual crisis or hurt that then leads one to seek healing, e.g. via an acupuncturist, therapist, meditation instructor, etc. which then leads some people to want to become healers themselves.

Richard Rutt's translation of line 6.5 is " ... in dispute: most auspicious."

So putting all these parts together: is it possible that you still have a (healing) crisis - or wound, imbalance, distress, or 'dispute' that needs to be healed (in a more complete way), and when it is, you can get on with the business of being a healer yourself?

Getting back to the trigram images: even though there is 'contrary motion' with the different parts (trigrams) of Hex. 6 going off in different directions, they eventually meet up again - when the sun comes around to great the new day in the east, where the rivers have also come to.

So you have: a crisis (injury, illness, hurt) > contrary motion > and then healing > and the 'motion' resolving itself (and the void or gap closing). I'm just wondering if this is the journey you need to finish here?
