Bold not working

Hi Hilary,
The bold option is not working.
Now that I'm testing further, the italics are not working either.
Underline is working.

This is something to do with the new style I commissioned. I'm waiting to hear back from the man who created it, who did promise after-sales support.

Meanwhile if anyone is a css expert and can track down exactly what class in which stylesheet is causing the problem, you would be the hero of the hour.

Aha! I've fixed bold and italic.

Lists are more of a mystery so far...

Aha! Cracked lists, too. It wasn't the list style type, it was the padding. Ha.

You may not see any change until you clear your cache, or possibly until you next log in, but it'll sort itself out eventually.

(Next question: what, if anything, has been broken by my css fiddling? I dare say I'll find out.)

That's really odd. In my email inbox, I got the notification of your new post in this thread - both lists (bullet, and numbered), appeared formatted as bullet and numbered in my email. But still not working here. Bold and italic still not working for me, maybe I should try Chrome instead of Firefox?

That'll be a cache thing: the old stylesheet cached in your browser. Try clearing the cache - or, yes, try a different browser; if you haven't viewed the new forums with that browser before, that'll work.

This is strange. When I click on "Edit" for that post, here's part of what I see, but no smiley of any size shows up in the actual post. (I actually kind of like these giant smilies that pop up randomly, and in fact have screen-clipped a giant turtle. I envision him as desktop wallpaper at some point.)

Now I feel deprived that I've never seen a giant smilie.

Huh. I wonder what I'm doing wrong (or right, actually :giggle:).

Bold
Diagonal
Underlined

I just wanted to say that bold seems to work here in messages but when I open a forum page, the new threads or those that had been updated used to be in bold, which meant I hadn't read them yet.

Now this is no longer so. Everything is in bold.

Also, the old thank yous. All gone 🍒

Have you hit the big time Olga ? I mean you are now a Super Star ?
I was forced to change my name as the New Order said that olga was too short 😒

I thought for a while whether to change name, but couldn't find an appropriate one. Then this came to my mind, I think it suits me :flirt:

Oh yes I think it suits you. You can't ever lack confidence with a name like that.

Oh, I like this image insertion and its thumbnails.

Before, if I'd wanted to do that, I'd've had to resize the photos in Paint so they wouldn't take over the thread like tyrannosauruses (which: entirely too much trouble). Now look.

You are so advanced!
I never attempted to insert an image before. I'm such a technology disable!

Maybe you've just never had an image you wanted to insert!

Oh my gosh, click on the thumbnail. Not only does it enlarge, there's all kinds of other options including playing a slideshow.

I must say, I always liked vBulletin well enough, and wasn't personally attacked by its bugs for some reason, but Xenforo: 🌟

I don't get it, sorry.
I looked it up and apart from nails of thumbs, it says thumbnail is a picture.
But which picture shall I click on? the emoticonS? I tried and nothing happened.

I think our conversation has gotten all twisted up. 🙃

Up in post no. 19, the two little pictures at the bottom are thumbnail pictures. Click on either one of them, and it'll open on a new screen in a bigger size, and then you can do all sorts of things with it. There are buttons in the upper right-hand corner of the new screen. Also, you can drag the picture back and forth with your mouse.

On this forum, if you want to put a picture in a thread, when you click the "Insert Image" button in the editing toolbar it'll give you the option of posting it as a thumbnail. That's how I got those two pictures to display that way. It's nifty.

You can actually just drag an image into the editor if you're not the button-clicky type. It still works.

😲 This gets better and better. You can resize! Edit - click on picture - drag any of the four corners. checkerboard.png
