Back in October I was asked to submit samples of a book I had begun for parents and teachers of autism spectrum disorders. Since then I have heard little from the publishers, apart from them receiving it and have a good holiday, thank you...

So with mercury rolling out of retrograde tomorrow, I thought I'd ask where the book stand with the publishers who have been (not surprisingly) quiet.

Got 58.3,5,6>14

Nothing I've read about these lines suggest this is a "great possession". In fact, I feel as if they're telling me to forget about this angle. "Unworthy" and "empty" and "seductive" is what I get here.

Hillary had a blog entry about 58.5 this morning, but that did not help me much, except to confirm this line has never signified valuable business offers.

Perhaps I have something that is a great possession (the book idea and my current work), but these people have no intentions of doing anything about it that will benefit me.

On the other hand, if I strip the lines of their moralistic verbage, could this suggest people discussing the value of a book project.

Any help with this seemingly negative reading?

The transitional hexagrams, 43.5 and 34.6 both suggest that wealth and enrichment may come from directions that are not in your original thinking or expectations. One example might be using newer technologies than the printed word. Are you looking to sell this at a level that supports you financially? In that case is it well-researched and scholarly or a more popular approach? Have you done a thread on your project at Wrong Planet? The subject interests me a lot (I'm a high-functioning Aspie, can be contacted off forum).

For the sake of any public interest in this thread, I'll answer a couple of bradford's questions.
  • I expect this will be one income stream and not a primary income.
  • I hope will have popular appeal with potential for other student/teacher audiences.
  • No. Haven't submitted to Wrong Planet, but that's a swell idea. Good beta audience.

Will contact you, bradford. Thank you for the feedback.

Got 58.3,5,6>14

Well, with 58: 3 and 6, the Oracle seems to have opted to tell you something other than that which you asked. It seems to be saying that too much of your joy and happiness is based on whether you get this book published (is that true?).

I have no idea what 58: 5 means. But overall, if i got this hex and the resulting 14, I would read it as generally propitious. However, I'd question the Oracle further.

Bostonian,

If you're wondering if I've got all of my emotional and economic eggs in this basket, the answer is no. I'm too aware of the publishing game to get romantic about prospects.

Mainly other people (therapists/teachers) have pushed me forward with the project. They have enthusiasm for it --and they're the ones who would use it.

I think it's a great idea, too --and who knows if it will be financially successful? It was an idea I developed on a trip with my daughter (who is on the autism spectrum), and it became a good tool for us to talk about some of her frustrations at school and elsewhere.

I'm wondering about bradford's observation that the project isn't the problem, but the delivery is. I'm too enthusiastic about the publishing contact when I need to rethink the overall potential of my creations.

philish, I am pulling up this old thread to ask how things worked out with your book. I just got this reading (with regard to a book, in fact, though one at a different stage), so I am curious.
