I asked Why am I so angry today (the day just started for me like half an hour ago haha) and received 50.1.2.3.4 > 27

When I got up, I went to make espresso in my little single serving moka pot and it wouldn’t open! Sometimes it sticks but I could not unscrew it for the life of me. It made me really mad but then I had to walk my dog so I did, thought about other things. And then was just still feeling really agitated and didn’t want to let that feeling expand to everything else.

Anyway, not the most exciting reading but it made me think about how so often we want to know if a reading is “good” or “bad” and so often it’s neither! It’s just describing things. The Vessel is “good” but obviously for me, today, it’s not :ROFLMAO:

Line 1: the blockage, would be good to be able to try it another way and open it but couldn’t

Line 2: contains something I want but it’s closed off and protected (in this case, for me, that’s not a good thing)

Line 3: It’s blocked, I can’t make coffee

Line 4: I stoped trying to open it because it was too annoying

I’m going to get espresso at the drive thru :coffee:

It opened after I posted this! I had run it under hot water and hit it with a metal knife 😂 I guess it need to sit and calm down after I poked at it; then it opened really easily a few hours later lol.

I am wondering, for me, when I am 'so' angry it usually lasts and builds. In this instance however, it seems your anger passed quickly -- more a flash-in-the-pan and not a slow boil or out-of-control rage. And therefore the Yi's advice or response may no longer be needed or no longer apply to you. Is this correct?

Or line 4: think how much angrier you'd be if you'd broken it open with a jolt and got coffee all over your nice white top.

Ah! Yes! This is such a good point. I almost threw it away actually because I've had (small) problems with it before and I thought "I'll just get a new one". Whatever running the hot water and banging the sides with a knife (which always works for me with jars) did... it did open later on. So it was trapped but not forever. Good thing I didn't throw it through a window :ROFLMAO:

True, I did calm down but I still felt agitated. I asked the question when I was still feeling 'off' later on

.... I did calm down but I still felt agitated ....

All of our 'containers' - which in my metaphor are the totalities of our hearts-minds-bodies - can be or can become agitated or angry (or broken): we want to cook a fine meal, or make a cuppa' moka, or 'cook up' some sort of alchemy or transformation, but our means of doing so are upturned, too full, awry, askew (from lines 1, 2, 3, 4) ....

One image which comes to mind is of Scarecrow after he was torn apart by the evil flying monkeys (the monkey minds?) in the Wizard of Oz, where his legs, arms, etc. were tossed askew and every which way ....

With the moving lines, 50's trigrams (three-line figures) of Wind/Wood below Flame are not as they should be, so the Yi advises: Thunder within / below Mountain - Hexagram 27, where we calm (stop, still) ourselves, and consider our actions - and consequences - before we act.

Hex. 27 reads, "observe the molars; read the state of the jaws for yourself" (R. Rutt) - which sounds like advice to "be careful - and stop and consider - what you bite down on, chew and swallow - before you do it".

Best, D
