Buying land 41>60

Once I get my inheritance I'm wanting to invest it because it's not enough to buy a house for myself at this time.

How worthwhile is it for me to purchase land as an investment property.
Hex 41.5.6>60

Even though I got Decrease which could mean don't pursue this idea I think the lines are encouraging.
I was hoping to get my son to help me buy a house but I've decided to forget that idea because it may just put pressure on both of us and our relationship - Line 5
I was also hoping to be able to buy the land by myself but it looks like it would be better to let him be part of it as well - Line 6.

To buy land as opposed to buying a house would be a lot easier and fairer to do in a partnership for both of us.

Hex 60 may mean the Limited budget I have to spend.

The reading seems to say it will be very beneficial & fortunate, so to speak. It will increase your assets considerably.

Line 6 says specifically one gains servants but not a home which is quite mysterious since this is a fortunate line but doesn't give you somewhere to settle but is rather the base for branching out. From wikiwing Hilary's translation

'In no way decreased, increasing it.
Not a mistake.
Constancy, good fortune.
Harvest in having a direction to go.
Gaining a servant, not a dwelling.'

I think this is a good answer but one you really need to think about a lot. And line 5 from wiki

'Maybe increased by ten pairs of tortoises,
Nothing is capable of going against this.
From the source, good fortune.'

So you time of loss is coming to an end, yet it is still a time of loss. Many, myself included have found there's some sadness also in line 5. You're increased in a time of loss.

I think the main thing to take from line 5 is firstly to consider how literal this might be. Land isn't a home but land has potential for many things to be built/leased/camped on and so on. If you buy this land what you'd be looking to is all the ways it might prosper you, all the opportunities and connections that might come from the purchase of it but it is a stepping stone to where you want to go.

I like the cast particularly if you are feeling a little experimental, open to the unexpected. If you see the land as 'home' it doesn't appear to give you that but this is a very lively and interesting time.

60 as you say is asking you to think in a very measured way about this. Presumably you have consulted a financial advisor about the best way to use your money ? I'd think you need to do your research before buying the land. I don't know how it is in Australia but here seems to me people buy land only to find later there's objections to them placing trailers on it or building on it. Then they have to go through all these legal loopholes. Mind you that's only what I see on TV and also you have a lot more space there so probably less of a problem.

Have you ever considered a 'tiny house' ? Lots of youtube videos on tiny houses that people build on a bit of land, will link. Not sure I could do it but I do admire the way they do it.

'Decreasing's Limitation' does look very much like budgeting with what feels like not very much. However it's a great cast for possibilities.

If you buy this land be sure to research any restrictions placed on it, which is obvious really but 60 is asking you to be quite meticulous, to focus clearly on what you're getting and most importantly what you can do with what you're getting.

Tiny houses in Australia seem a lot more luxurious than the ones in the UK and the US but anyway

It would be nice just to have something, however small, that was yours. Of course Yi says buying land won't provide a home, a settled home but who knows you could have something and rent it.

Thanks Trojina.....I’m personally not a fan of the Tiny Homes for myself but still think they’re a great idea.

The land isn’t for me to ever live or build on, it’s just an idea to make money when the value increases due to demand for different reasons. Definitely doing research into any building Limitations etc. on it and have talked to my son about excavating it ready for building because that’s a cost in itself. We would only have to hire the machine as he’s able to do the excavating himself and I would build gardens through the use of cuttings and other free or cheap plants.
The biggest decision is to WHERE to buy for the fastest return. I’m looking at 5 years but a lot sooner would be better!!

Hi Becalm,

Even though I got Decrease which could mean don't pursue this idea I think the lines are encouraging.
If you take LiSe's translation for hex. 41 The Empty Cauldron, then lines 5 en 6 become even more encouraging. When taking in account the advice of hex. 60
hex 60 Legge: Restrictive Regulations bring progress and success, but if they are severe and difficult they cannot be permanent.
Lines 5 and 6 seems to indicate that the cauldron will be filled to the brim (supreme good fortune).

Good luck

I don't think you should get carried away with how brilliant it's going to be. In practise, that is people's own experiences with these lines, it's not just pure unalloyed joy and I think people get carried away both when they see 42.2 and 41.5.

I don't think it's just 'wow it's all going to be amazing' I think the lines should be considered carefully.

There's a tendency with really 'positive' readings just to automatically head off mentally into 'it's all going to be great' but there are still conditions to heed, you are in 41. Just thinking it's going to be fantastic isn't the best way to go IMO because then you can lose sight of the whole reading.

Thanks Trojina I’m not thinking that at all. It’s more I see it as a potential option rather than totally discounted. I’m not rushing into anything, maybe if I was 20 years younger but when this a last chance kind of thing I’m cautious and nervous as well.
