Hi all!

Can anyone help me understand this (apparent) contradiction? I made a question before casting to know if I should move forward with a project or not (was sending an email to involve other people and getting it started).

Got hex 34, which seems to be a greatly positive reply from the I Ching. However, my changing lines are 1 and 3, which interestingly, both mention that one should not move forward. What does this mean? a possible "yes, but not yet"?
If line 3 is changed, the future hex seems to be positive again. So I'm confused :/

Hi,
Im just a junior member, so you might want to wait for a more experienced reply from one of the senior members. Hex 34 is about using too much force, and your relating hex 40 is about release, so maybe Yi is saying "dont push too hard". But you shouldnt ask either-or questions, its more difficult to interpret.

Hi, I don't see any contradiction, both lines say you better not go ahead in my opinion!

Line 3 speaks of a ram which gets entangled because he doesn't know his limits.
34.3>54: with 54 you are in no position to use your strength and to do much really.

my changing lines are 1 and 3, which interestingly, both mention that one should not move forward. What does this mean? a possible "yes, but not yet"?
They don't say "not yet", although if you cast again in a few months, they might say "go ahead" as things change!

Hi nunodonato

Between forcing the advance (34) or the release of tension (40) you need to keep in mind that using the force would lead you to stagnation (lines 1 and 3 from hex 34). So, you need to ask yourself: are you pushing too much? are you imposing the advance onto others? are you being stubborn in going ahead?.

Hexagram 34 is a "Total Clash" hexagram. When you ask a yes/no question, it means NO. To know if this total clash is definitive or if you can overcome it, it would be necessary to know the date (year, month, day and hour) when you tossed the coins.
