In old software we could edit posts for about 3 days but now we can't edit even shortly afterwards. What is the new length of time that editing posts is possible within ? @hilary

This is extra confusing because Trojina can't edit a recent thread (was it the one you created yesterday, T?) but I just changed/unchanged the title several times on this thread that I created last Saturday the 26th. Both options worked - "edit" at the bottom of post no. 1, and "Edit thread" under the ... \/ button in the upper right corner.

No trying to change the 'making stuff up' title which was older but amore general point I have found is I can't edit my post, any posts after maybe a few hours. Like last week I wanted to edit something I had written the day before but couldn't, no eedit button.

So that's why I am asking what the time frame allowed is to edit, it used to be 3 days

So it's probably something to do with some stray permission from some difference in the usergroups you're each part of... except I thought you were part of the same groups... will look it up...

There's no edit button there. I'm trying to put 'safari' in the title of this and I can't . The other day I said something dumb (hard to imagine I know) but next day could not edit it out. I virtually have no edit time ?

Whatever you tweaked it hasn't worked I'm afraid.

There'll be a delay in sorting the user mentions thingy while I fiddle.

Just realised where the confusion was, knew I hadn't imagined not being able to edit even new posts - it's on my phone. There is no edit button for my posts in my phone. Well there is, I just found it but it's hidden it doesn't say 'edit' it says ...v a little drop down menu to get to edit which I hadn't used/seen.

That explains what was happening @Liselle @hilary

still kerfuffle for nothing but I just didn't expect it to be different on my phone especially as I have never used that special 'skin' for the phone so all I am doing is accessing forum as normal except on phone. Weird then that the edit button displays differently on phone to on computer.
