Car and progress Hex 40>7

I sold my kombi nearly 12 months ago as all I was doing was throwing money at it. I bought another old car but it died on me a couple of months later. That was about 3 or 4 months ago and I've done without a car since. I can afford to buy another old car but I don't wish to risk the same thing happening. Mostly I'm fine with it but I wonder if it's causing more of a stalemate in my life that, to me, already exists.

How would it benefit my life to buy another car

Oh gosh I don't really know ay - unwise beginnings and friends come?? what does that mean here!

What progress is being held back in my life because I don't own a car

Hex 34 unchanging

It's stopping me doing anything rash - ah now that makes sense in some ways. Not having a car certainly stopped me from going on a road trip that I know now would have ended in disaster.

anything else?

I think what Hilary said in her book about 40.4 might apply here:

"When you release your thumbs, you release your grip. [...] When you let go your requirements for how things...must be, you release the situation's latent potential; you can even attain what you sought quite naturally and easily."

Maybe don't worry about it for now, and when the time is right, it will be more obvious?

Thanks Lisa, yes that makes sense. I also wonder about starting my business and moving house but my thoughts always come back to - when the time's right, it will be obvious.
Yesterday it was cold and almost gale force winds and I had to ride my pushy 4kms to go to and from my creative writing group and well noice if I'd had a car for that present moment amongst other things. - Liss

What is a "pushy 4kms" and a "noice"?

Maybe we need an Australian English translation thread as well as the British-American English thread!

Yes, 40 is Deliverance, and I agree with you re: winning a car, lol.

Edited - oh wait, is 4kms 4 kilometers? So then I just don't know what a "pushy" is, lol. And a noice.

Is a pushbike different from a regular bicycle? I'm trying to imagine how it's the slightest bit useful if you have to push it - so really I think I have the entirely wrong idea, probably...

What a beautiful bicycle :D ! Maybe it's called a pushbike just because you can push it. Or because you're pushing it with your feet (on the pedals). Who knows, but it's a pretty bike.

Update - albeit quite late!! It was good and bad not having a car - when I did buy one in December 2014 friends had come to help me out and I needed to buy a car and also not having one did stop me from doing anything rash and taking my time for my next step in life.
