Hi there, just getting into this and I asked a question about whether I should go back into IT as a career. I left around 13 years ago to go into business administration, so my skills need updating but it is something I've been thinking about doing recently. The reading seems to indicate hard work! Which is fine!!

HI Odysseus I think you're gonna be Shocked how many more Bytes there are to learn!!! Hahaha but I'm actually wondering with Line 6 why you're going back? Is it because you need to, to have a job?

My son took 2 years from working as a Meteorologist about 5 years and when he returned he said he was amazed how far technology had come and pretty much had to learn the job all over again.

Hi becalm, thanks for the reply. My reasons are two fold really. Firstly, I'm feeling really bored in my current role at the moment and don’t find the work stimulating and I need a change in my life. Secondly, I love tech and always have. I drifted out of it originally because a better paid job came up, and then I got promotion, then life got busy (child rearing. Etc) And I found my skills were out of date Pretty fast. Now I have more time I've been thinking of another change, but am unsure whether this is the right direction, especially given my age (50+).

You could ask How worthwhile it is to pursue that avenue of work.
I'm 59 and I still haven't found what I want to do yet!!!

Hard work ?

The line says there's something you are refusing to hear on this matter . What could that be ? This line isn't really talking about hard work but that whatever was/is wrong in a situation you still haven't understood. It could refer to someone else, historically we joke that 21.6 is always about someone else but it's quite a harsh line

She says in her commentary this can be that you simply can't take any more in, it's not that you wilfully refuse to hear you just can't hear. Could it possibly be that in considering this change you are really blocking out something else you need to change more ?
