36.2 > 11

I think so. Darkening of the light suggests your inferior position as a student, but hexagram 11 a satisfying outcome. For 36.2 Bradford has

Brightness obscured
And wounded in the left leg
But relying on assistance
The horse is strong enough
Promising

Suggests some loss, perhaps the cost of education. The horse idea implies that you have the strength to see this through, so you'll be taking one step backward to take two steps forward.

the dreaded hexagram 12

Thank you Tom correct about a loss.

I wanted to ask about hexagram 12 as an outcome hex. Does it mean hindrances and no go or do I have to correlate it with the first hexagram?

For example. I asked what can I do to generate more income?

hexagram 6 line 2 changing to hexagram 12
Does it mean I have no chances of generating more income? Bad timing at present? I see it very negative..

I appreciate it thank you for your time:hug:

First, while in a temporal sense, positive and negative do exist, and some hexagrams and lines tend to be more positive than others, it is important to get past such general concepts and look at more specific advise in each line.

That being said, the line doesn't make much sense unless you intend to be a lawyer or some kind of mediator. Then it makes sense.

However, the question being asked is a little too general anyway. If you have a concept of what you want to do, you may want to ask about the success of your venture. In hexagram 22 the I Ching says that some questions require more earnestness. In otherwords, a deep analysis that may very well require a great deal of research. This I Ching responds best to specifics.

Hexagram twelve does relate to blockages, but those blockages only last for a time, and can be overcome given the right person, the right attitude, and the right time. You may notice that as the lines change, the higher lines are more positive than the lower because the situation always changes, hence the book of changes.

I would suggest you give this a great deal more thought than just asking the I Ching a general question. Line two says something to the effect of "returning to his household." In otherwords, you must go to the source within you to find what you are really inclined to do and what is important to you. The I Ching is only answering the question in the sense that it is saying, you must find the answer within yourself.

6.2 > 12

You apparently need part-time employment while attending school. This casting, in my opinion, is auspicious for an accountant. I had an uncle, an ex-marine in the south Pacific in WWII, who, among his other occupations, was an accountant. Whenever he felt disrespected by an employer, he quit his job and supported his family by accounting. That is, I expect conflict in an accountant because as a stickler for details, which an good accountant must be, conflict is to be expected. In your city there are many small businesses that are in need of accounting service -- someone to keep the books part time. The school you attend might allow you to work for them as an accountant. (I am assuming that you already have basic accounting skills.) The most interesting person I met in college was an accountant who kept the books for the cafeteria where I also worked. He had been a German fighter pilot in north Africa in WWII and was shot down. He expected to be executed on capture -- after all, he had been machine-gunning American troops. Instead he was hospitalized and restored to health, and this kindness persuaded him that he would rather be an American. Hexagram 12 is a natural outcome of accounting. Often an accountant must assert the figures, whatever wishful thinking others might have. The one reservation I have comes from connotation. There are deficiencies in punctuation in your presentation. In my youth a run-on sentence was a failing grade, and an accountant is expected to attend to such details. I realize standards are not now as they were then. Still, it bothers me. Whatever, I think you could find part-time work as an accountant.

Thank you Gene that helped!
Thank you Tom for your nice story. Your analysis is always very helpful for me!

As for my lazy sentences I'm spoilt  I'm a writer and teacher and I have an editor who corrects my writing.

Cheers! Mary
