Caring For My Daughter...

Greetings To All!
I will be taking my 5 year-old daughter for diagnosis and treatment for her autism.
There are 2 different programs I'm looking into for her in July.
The questions I've asked are:
What will be the results of working with BMC ? 23.1.3.6.>36
What will be the results of working with MGH? 11.4.>34
ALSO
Why am I apprehensive about working with BMC? 62 unchanging
Why am I so positive about working with MGH? 35.5.6.>45

Hi peace66 I focus on the energies of the trigrams rather than the texts, when doing health divinations. I make small scemes of stones as shown above and use my visual intuition when reading. An example: your last two questions differ in the trigrams below. The BMC question trigram is Mountain and the MGH question trigram is Earth. I think that you'll find the answers of your last two questions when studying the difference of energy between these two trigrams. The first one is part of the unchanged hexagram with trigram Thunder above. This indicate, that a certain surprizing piece of BMC information has made you stand still. The second MGH answer has above the trigram Fire changing to the trigram Lake. This could have been influenced by your sceptical view to the BMC diagnosis and treatment? you have time, would you give me a little more info on my reading? Since I'm new to
the I Ching, I could use the help. I'm taking the online course with Hilary, who's really
great! I haven't gotten to the assignment yet on moving lines, so this reading is particularly confusing for me.

The texts are often very difficult to understand and are more obvious to me, when I actually look at the difference between two hexagrams. Here the strong trigram Heaven below is unchanged while the trigram above changes from Earth to Thunder. To me it looks like a small progress? Not a miracle but a move in the right direction? Such observations help me understanding the texts when I do my readings

OK, yes, I've noticed this many times before where the oracle seems to address issues of a more immediate priority, but how's the issue of repeating the same question that different from selecting the answer that we like the most? I take such answers from the oracle as "cut the crap with meaningless questions and pay attention to what I'm telling you..."

Sometimes when I do a divination, I might not really understanding what the oracle is trying to tell me. In that case I will do another, asking the same question again. Usually, I will be told the same thing the second time, but from a slightly different perspective. So, when I read the first divination along with the second divination, it usually starts to sink in and make sense to me.

I have never had the experience of asking the same question twice and receiving two mutually exclusive answers. For that reason, I have never been in the position of being able to pick the answer I liked most. It never happens that way.

Would it not be advisable to have helped this mother of a little daughter by not only looking at the hexagrams but also to look at the types of treatments and to explore this a little deeper. After all, this was not a relationship question of the type, shall I email this guy or not. The blind trust in hexagrams, without looking at th context, displayed in the entry actually worries me, which is the reason why I make this reply, also the event has presumably long passed.

BMC is Boston Medical Center. MGH is Massachusetts General Hospital. Both places treat autism. Treatments for most disorders is standardized, and the child probably would get similar treatment at both places, so the question isn't which is better but -- considering the individuality of the child -- at which place would she respond better. The child's response may be influenced by the parent's attitude. The parent is apprehensive about working with BMC but would go there if that place were better for the child. As I see it, the parent's indecision is the question being addressed, not the child's medical care. You're right that the thread wandered off topic, which is disrespectful to the querent.

I would be happy to play devil's advocate on this one. If the person who posted this wanted an expert on autism, they would post on an autism support site. When people want the opinion of the oracle, they ask it, and then they need help interpreting it, so they come here or hire someone like Hilary. Both are legitimate ways to approach, and certainly not exclusive of each other.

I think in at least some cases that it helps to understand the subject matter being discussed, because it aids in making the interpretation. But subject matter expertise is not always required; a diviner has their own knowledge of their life, and their study of Yi, its objective and its subjective meanings. That is often enough.
