Change 50.2.3.4.6 to 2

Hello - as I got 49 as a second hexagram several times, suggesting me to do a radical change, I asked in which way I could change - change in attitude, goals, whatsoever.
Then I got 50.2.3.4.6 changing to 2.
So these are several lines! Its always not so easy to decide which line applies.
The vessel (50) seems to be about my cultural interests and values, also maybe about the talents I've got. It seems to say that I have to change my mind about what really counts? But which line is most important?
Anyway, it seems to be a process, a boiling vessel, several steps to go through, with an answer in hex. 2: Getting real.

49 and 50 describe two completely different types of change. 49 is about either an involuntary seasonal change (e.g. like when a snake sheds its skin), or a revolution when one element violently overthrows another. 50 as you noted yourself, is a very slow process (e.g. like when we're cooking a stew, or when we're pregnant).

A lot depends on what exactly you were asking, when you got 49 as the second hexagram.

There's jealousy (50.2), no enjoyment (50.3), the 'prince' has messed everything (50.4). You're still fine as you are (50.6). You need to accept (2) this whole scenario described. The overall reading sounds like something was 'cooking', but unfortunately it doesn't come to fruition (2 is empty). So back to your question, don't try to change anything, you're not at fault.

thanks, this is interesting! The outward situation is that I recently stated and almost immediately lost a job, quite unexpectedly, and I was shocked, getting over it, but still I am all self doubt, and I have not so much of an idea at all what to plan next. About the general outlook, I got 38.2.4.5 to 42, which I posted as well. But I had detail questions like: try and do the same job again etc. etc.? Or something completely different etc. etc. When asking such questions I got 49 as a changed hexagram again and again (But I should have written the exact questions down more accurately, true).
However, I interpreted that I might have been just wrongtoken - maybe asked all to often - and so I asked if I really have to change and renew my look at things or my goals, so that I can ask better questions.
Very interesting - what you describe, this actually was my situation at my last work place, in a certain sense it still is, so I have to accept what there is (2) and stay calm. So the book of changes seems to give a look back this time, very interesting! I have to give things more space before a new chapter can start - which will probably be a new one. I can hear this saying, as well, and it feels as if it was sort of a subtle admonition. It is good to have such a clear feedback.
