class dynamics 30.2>14

I have started studying Horticulture at college but feeling a bit isolated from the others, understandably as they have all been together studying for the last 18 months.
As per usual the class has it's dynamics with there being the dominants who always get their way, the followers and the ones that have learned to say nothing as it just creates conflict but underneath are a bit resentful of the dominants.
Personally I would like to see a change in this dynamic but have realised it will only isolate me further.

What is the best way for me to integrate myself in my class

Hex 30.2>14

I think it's saying take the opportunity to learn, go with the flow but don't show arrogance or be assertively trying to change things.

Thanks Moss Elk.
Ah but how do I go about that without being arrogant I guess is my question to myself. You know how people always stick to the same thing because they know it works and they'll look good...that's what's going on here. Power play, gold star, noone knows better then them...Is that a reflection of me or do I really have something new to offer that they'd be receptive to and how do I go about it?

If you have knowledge about something they don't, and the teacher is worth his/her salt, you'll be heard.

You can be assertive without being arrogant.

Good for you, Liss! I'm so happy you're always reinventing yourself.

In 30.2, the sun is at its highest point (duration of insulation). I say be the brightest star in your class and go right ahead and shed some light upon what you know. Doesn't photosynthesis require sunlight?

Yes I see what you mean Moss Elk I actually should have said without appearing arrogant but I guess it depends how people receive what you are trying to give to them. I need to keep thinking and sorting it out in my own self.
Haha I know wind I'm always moving onto something else and sometimes coming back. I've been doing Horticulture for years without giving it a name. The most I'm learning at the moment is about the actual sustainability and biodiversity relative to plants.

30.2: you have understood the problem <-> 14.2: let's go

My take is that since you have a clear view of the situation then you will be able to rally others to your opinion and provoke a change.

I agree with you Liss.

Be docile, go with the flow, show them your abilities and knowledge, just like the sun does - offering its light to everyone but not expecting anything.
Some may close the curtain, shut the window, but some will go to the beach and enjoy the sunbath :)

Richmond 30.2:
This gentle image is a beautiful symbol for the activity of stillness, the late afternoon sunlight has just that effect on us.
Between high noon and night; at the peak of our eye's sensitivity; yellow stands for activity of the middle way.

Invite them to some afternoon activity maybe? To show your garden, fruits of you labor in horticulture?

Thanks taoscopy that's what I want to do - not so much my opinion but I'd just like to see others become aware that their ideas are valuable too.

Thanks ashteroid - beautiful analogy. I'm just wondering how you get others to become receptive when they are closed off, but it sounds like gently does it. Just gotta work out what activity will allow them to start changing their mindset.
I'm all for going to the beach and enjoy the sunbath.
