I asked Yi as how I can permanently clear myself of an energy block I've had for a long time.
And I got 19.2 to 24

I'm not really sure what to make this answer. It's so vague.
19 - supreme success. Perseverance furthers. 8th month misfortune.
(Perseverance of what?)

Changing line 2: Joint approach. Good fortune everything furthers. To approach with sincerity brings good fortune. It is beneficial for everything. (Again with approaching)

24 - Progress and freedom of action are found in Return. Goings and comings are unimpeded, and friend approach without error.
The course repeats itself. In 7 days one cycle of reversion completes.

So first it's telling me to approach and then next hexagram is telling me about returning? But don't I first have to know what to approach to finally return?

Progress and freedom of action are found in Return.

So is progress is found in approaching or returning? Doesn't this contradict the first hexagram that advises approach?
And the 7 days aspect just adds another layer of abstraction. Forgive me, I'm not well versed in Yi, so my understanding is quite shallow.

Completely confused.

Anyone ever get this combination and have any inkling of what it's trying to say?

Maybe encouraging you to align with others who are some how similarly involved with your situation? I think of 19. as being about someone who has had a profound revelation that they would like to share with others but it is too much to tell, and then 19.2 is suggesting that by aligning with others who are similarly struggling, searching, you come to be able to 24. recenter yourself and be realigned with your inspiration. So where ever you are feeling blocked, find someone who is working with the same challenges - like join a writers group if you're a writer or just partner with one friend. Two heads are better than one!

Hi Rosada,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to reply, I deeply appreciate it.
But, yes, in context to what you said,

"So where ever you are feeling blocked, find someone who is working with the same challenges"

it makes what Yi says, clear,

"Joint approach. Good fortune everything furthers."

The challenge for me now would be to find similar souls!

By the way, do you have any idea what this part means for Hex 24: The course repeats itself. In 7 days one cycle of reversion completes.

If not, it's fine. You've made the bulk of these Hexagrams' meanings clear. :)

Again, thank you for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it! :)

Hi there,

I believe, one way to read Hexagram 19 is connection with your higher self, a beneficial spirit, or a skilled energy healer. A Reiki practitioner for example? A beneficial influence that seeks you, but you also need to actively open up to and engage with.

If you don't believe in spirits you could translate this into a visualization: imagine the nearing of your future self, which has worked through and released this energy blockage. Try to sense how it feels to be released of this blockage. How does it manifest in your mind and your body? This could incite a growth process that will restore you with your path (24).

You could imagine 19.2 as a joined approach with your healed future self.

Another possible reading would be to see this as a process of turning a "hungry ghost" into a "beneficial ancestor". It could be an inherited energy pattern. I wouldn't see "ghost" as a literal presence.

An ancestral influence lies unnoticed and neglected. Once connection is restored, the neglected ancestor is recognized, the energy blockage can turn into inner guidance. But this might not resonate for you.

If it were my cast, this is how I'd read it.

bonne chance,

J.

As to what the reference to 7 means:
In WikiWing Hilary comments that the 7 days may refer to the six lines describing the change and then 7 meaning completion. Also 7 is a natural cycle with 7 being the day of rest.
So between 23 Collapse and 25 Innocence I guess this hex is saying after collapse there is not an instant fresh start, there is this important step to create a Return to innocence. Take a moment, some time out to review maybe? Really release the past so as not to repeat it?
