Hello everyone,

I thought I'd start a new thread about using the I Ching for direction finding.

On another thread, Steve Marshall wrote:

"To find the place more specifically you could use Shao Yong's circular diagram to divine direction and by cross-correlation you can pinpoint a place."

Can anyone explain a little bit more about using Shoa Yong's circular diagram?

Dividing up the 360 degree circle into 64 would mean that each hexagram covers an arc of 5 5/8 degrees.

So the result of a single divination could give you a compass bearing to within 6 degrees. Is that correct?

What bearing would you take for hex 1? Due North? Due South?

Thanks and best wishes,

Mick
