connection to drugs 37>35

Good morning,
Before I met my son's father he was into the party drugs and as the years went on it was obvious his addictions got worse although I was never aware if he used party drugs again. Just alcohol and pot.

However he is coming back to town and recently he came into a lump sum of up to $20,000 but apparently is unemployed, anyway as my son and him are planning to spend time together even perhaps live together I am concerned about drugs.

I asked Yi 'show me his(father) connection to drugs

too worried about this to get a clear answer - I know his fiance is the dominant in the relationship, they have no children and they continually thumb their nose at authority.

Maybe it runs in the family? I'm not sure 37 can be allot of things. It's not strictly family matters, I think it can also be a group of friends one is associated with. I think 37 can probably also represent the body.

The question is a family question. So maybe it's more addressing that aspect. Or the underlying motive behind your question? You want to find out where the money came from. Perhaps it's just the family connections?

No it's not about the money at all that sorta just gave me clue that drugs mite be involved in his life now.
It's about whether he is involved in drugs in any way -it is about protecting my son.

Well then I would suggest that it's addressing the situation as a family matter.
You are probably line 4: he is line 5. Line 1, is probably the child, and line 3 is probably the family situation: structural problems or discipline issues.

Hexagram 35 says there is fast progress here. So. It doesn't look that bad to me.

Last time my son spent time with his father and partner they went to a festival, got very drunk - not unusual but they then convinced my son to get into the back of the car and drove him home.
Fortunately he got home safely but it could have been very, very different.
The next day my son told me how his father and partner were having a huge argument, alcohol induced.
I spoke to the police who then told me that the situation actually turned into a domestic violence situation and his father was charged.
The real estate who they were renting off at the time and told me when they finally got them to move out of the premises, because of complaints, there had been holes punched in every wall of the house.
This is why I am concerned.

No idea, but men get charged and arrested for DV simply for making a woman annoyed (no ****) under VAWA. The real estate could be just exaggerating and giving you something to gossip about. Real Estate folks always have these stories in my experience no matter what the situation. And your son, who knows.

Still hexagram 37 to 35 doesn't look that bad to me.

I think 37.1.3.4.5 to 37 indicates the need for YOU to protect your family and to be vocal about it. Just let all drunken parties involved know that you are NOT kidding around and that you will NOT tolerate them endangering your son. Gosh, these family situations are always complex and super sensitive and tough, but I think 35 suggests that you need to "step-up" and be vociferously protective, because you and your son, actually your entire family, WILL benefit from you being upfront and direct about your concerns.

And not that you haven't been vocal before, I just find 35 to be about taking charge sometimes, you know, just bringing it to the next level.

Thks youngmaid and I wish it was that easy. All I can do is speak to my son about keeping himself safe (he is 16) I cannot stop him from going to his father. My son just says I'll be fine, mum. xx

In that case Liss, I think that the Yi is advising you that your son IS actually listening to you, but that you need to keep on saying it.

I acted like I didn't listen to my mom when I was 16, but I actually DID when she slammed wisdom into my ears.

I have got to say that I cannot see that interpretation in the divination. While that may be the answer you want. I would appreciate it if you perhaps deciphered how you came to that conclusion.
