Consequences comet Elenin and planet Earth

Untill dec 21 2012 comet Elenin will be in alignment with several planets in our Solar system. There is proof that these alignments are the cause of earthquakes. What is are the consequences of these alignments for planet Earth.

Garbage in... garbage out. A comet cannot remain in "alignment" with planets for months on end -- they move too fast. There is utterly no evidence of planetary alignments resulting in earthquakes -- we've survived far more extensive alignments with nary a tremor.
