Hello everyone,

I need someone to help me interpret this reading much clearly please. I've got a law case that i'm trying to sort out as soon as possible so as to move on to other things i have to do.

I asked the i-ching "What if i send in the appeal form" and i got Hex 5.1 to 48

Can someone please help me explain what the i-ching is trying to say to me please.

Thank you in Advance

I think this is auspicious.

Interesting, both hexes mention water, in 5 as waiting for rain, and in 48, water to be obtained from the well.

Hex 5

Clouds rise up to heaven:
The image of WAITING.
Thus the superior man eats and drinks,
Is joyous and of good cheer

Wait patiently, and strengthen yourself, while you wait without wasting your energy on worry. The rain clouds are overhead, but the rain isn't falling yet.

Hex 5, Line 1

Nine at the beginning means:
Waiting in the meadow.
It furthers one to abide in what endures. No blame.

The danger is not yet close. One is still waiting on the open plain. Conditions are still simple, yet there is a feeling of something impending. One must continue to lead a regular life as long as possible. Only in this way does one guard against a premature waste of strength, keep free of blame and error that would become a source of weakness later on.

I think the Yi is reflecting your eagerness to send the appeal, but says it is "furthers one to abide in what endures." A warning that you are vulnerable, and you should wait to move forward til after danger passes. Hex 5 is just saying be patient, calm, and nourish yourself. This will prepare you for the time to act. This suggests to me there are people in power who may influence the situation in your favor. Give it time. Sending the appeal now may interfere with this natural progress that is already happening behind the scenes and seems like it may turn the tide in your favor.

Hex 48

Water over wood: the image of THE WELL.
Thus the superior man encourages the people at their work,
And exhorts them to help one another

If you are patient people in power will work together. The image suggests you will eventually receive the sustenance you need. Water over wood, the water drawn from the well, or pulled from the ground to the top of the trees. A symbol for the system, the people in the system, working to get you the sustenance you need.

However, the way you phrased the question does confuse things, for me, a little. It could mean this is what will happen only after you have sent the appeal. A totally hypothetical situation. But, I don't think Yi would advise you to do something that would put you in the open plain, and vulnerable. So, either way, I think it's a no, don't send it. Also, line 1 says, abide in what endures, and hex 5 is all about patience. So, I would read this as I've interpreted it. I think Yi heard your real question which I think was "Should I send the appeal?" Was that what you really wanted to know?

BTW, I've worded questions this way before myself, and I have found it makes the casting difficult to read. But I think gives advice on how to act when questions are phrased this way. Also why I saw the above interpretation. Hope this helps:)

Wow.
Thank you very much for the interpretation and yes "Should I send the appeal?" was what i really wanted to know but since we'l have been advised not to ask the i-ching a Yes or No type of answer, i rephrased it.
Truly i am VERY eager and almost impatiently want to send the appeal in cos i'v got 2weeks to put in a case or else i'l probably lose out.

But like advised, I'l remain calm and patient, probably try and involve an expert who knows more about my sort of situation to help me out instead of trying to sort everything out by myself.

Again Thank you for the interpretation. :)

My take is to wait (5), your appeal has the right central idea (48), but perhaps it needs an edit of the details, or the outter workings of it rearranged (48 and 5.1). 5.1 points instead of just waiting, but to also fixing something while waiting.

My pleasure to offer my insights:)... The Yi directs you to nourish youself. Strengthen yourself for a later date, don't waste your energy on worry. Get prepared, maybe, by taking care of yourself, so you can show your upstanding character later maybe, and be at your best when the time to act has come... Hex 48 says to encourage people in their work... What does that mean to you? I don't know much about legal proceedings, so it is hard for me to relate the hexes to this aspect of your situation.
