Just thought I'd share this in case it might be of use...

If you find yourself repeatedly thinking about something you'd rather not think about at all you can quickly clear your mind by singing the Walt Disney song, "It's a Small World." True, it does get stuck in your brain too for awhile which is very annoying but you wont be able to think of anything else either!

I once chatted with a professional horn player about earworms - tunes that get stuck in your head and go round, and round, and round. He'd get rid of them after a concert by singing 'Old McDonald' as he drove home - very loudly, and complete with animal noises.

(I normally travel home from concerts on the train. Do you think it would still work?)

So, we get to pick our poison as to which song is stuck in our heads: the original tune, or, it's a small world ....

Then again, I suppose we could pick any replacement song, so today I'm going with 'I'm a Believer' (and now I can't get that cheesy organ part out of my head!) Fun fact - this song was composed by Neil Diamond!
