Its not a very encouraging line, it portraits a person blindly following another (like infatuated person's ususally do, Im no exception), and sugests that one should neither give in to every whim of the loved one, and first of all should try to steady her own passionate feelings
Yet you got that when asking what did HE feel, so perhaps he is the one that wishes to follow you...

In general I think its positive, and that you should give it a try... what have you got to lose?

If you have any doubts, just ask yourself what you really feel and go for it. Like wilhem's commentary to the resulting line of 12.1 (25.1)say : "The original impulses of the heart are always good, so that we may follow them confidently, assured of good fortune and achievement of our aims."
