Hi all! i'm new but I've been reading this site for a couple of months - it's really helped me a lot in interpreting the I Ching.

Right now I'm trying to decide whether or not I should attend an event this Saturday so I asked the following:

"what do i need to know about attending this event saturday?"
answer: 7 unchanging

(Is th IC saying there will be conflict? Or that I need to orderly/disciplined in my demeanor?)

"what do i need to know about skipping the event on saturday?"
answer: 5 lines 3 and 4, changing to 58

(Is the IC saying that I should wait on deciding, stop being anxious, calm down and sit tight/don't do anything because an opportunity is coming?)

Any advice that can be given on my reading would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, I'm looking to see what action (going or skipping) is being advised as better for the improvement of the situation.

Basically the need to be in control of yourself and the event, don't let anything disturb you, be in control and not let it collapse into chaos, or in this case an argument. So, plan ahead, decide what you are going to do when you get there, do it, and then leave.

It suggests that not going will create more trouble than its worth, so it seems to be a bad idea to to skip the event.

Thank you so much, Willowfox, for your help! I appreciate your insight here! :)

I did later ask the IC two further questions on the matter, though. I hope that this doesn't muddle the reading...:

1) does my friend think that i still want to fight?:
Answer: 53.1.2.4. changing to 1

2) what will my friend think of me if i don't go on Saturday?:
Answer: 48.2.6. changing to 53

Thank you again.

Yes she does think that at the moment, but once you are both together at the event then her attitude will change for the better, so go to the party, be on your best behaviour and nice to her and the situation between you will settle down. I know that you feel unsure but don't worry, play the game and everything will be all right on the night.

As for the second question, I think it is better to go.

Willowfox,

Just letting you know I went to the event and it was fine. I was nervous at first but my friend and I chatted briefly and that was nice.

Thanks for your input!
